I would like to remind everyone that there is a rule on this board...
| Quote: |
This forum is for the purpose of discussing PNH freely and openly. It is not for bashing Parelli's or those who do PNH. Anyone doing so will be banned. There is a forum set up for complaints about Parelli, Inc and the direction it is heading. Please confine negative comments to this forum and keep the rest positive, helpful, and fun. |
Lately it has been disregarded to such an extent, that there is an anti-Parelli pervasive negativism throughout the board. It needs to STOP. People who are doing the program are afraid to post or ask questions, and THAT just can't continue.
I would ask that you all remember what brought all of us together in the first place. As we grow forward, let us respect those who are beginning the journey and help them through constructive assistance.
Thank you... _________________ Carol Nudell

Thanks for the reminder.
I think their new product for people starting out sounds very positive and I'll probably spend some of my hard earned exam-marking money on getting a set.
The new website is also much clearer. They have so much they want to say and share, that it is difficult to get it all out there in a comprehensive manner. |

Being so busy lately I must have missed something with being so busy lately and reading very little, but, yeah, I did notice the new levels are not well received before anyone has seen them.
Hopefully I will have something positive to report after mine arrive as the write up I read briefly in the Savvy Times seems to make all the right noises about being the genuine levels program update we have all been waiting for for years. _________________ Cheers, Jules.

Well said Carol...I would still recommend Parelli to others. I don't think myself and Kitt would have gotten to the point that we have without taking part in their program and it seems that we can't deny the fact that they seem to have listened to their members... but great change takes time to develop.
I think that this forum is a wonderful resource place for anybody doing Parelli but to be honest I have been reluctant to steer anybody excited about Parelli this way due to the negative vibes that can be found on some threads. _________________ Wanda

I also wanted to note something that has disturbed me. I have noticed many people seem to think it is a right of passage here to quit the savvy club, some going so far as to sell all their equipment and changing to other clinicians.
That was never my intent, and if anyone felt pressured to do so, I am terribly sorry. This forum is STILL for the study of PNH, just outside the confines of the Savvy Club. It also is for exploring other methods and clinicians, not in lieu of, but as an augment or continuation to their Parelli foundation. _________________ Carol Nudell

I agree with that, Carol. There is a difference between fair comment and bashing, and it does seem to me the few times I have posted lately that there is some herd mentality developing where if you have had a problem with a particular instructor that is the flavour of the month, you probably should not present your alternative view (if you need an example, I am definitely NOT encouraged to say why I will not employ an Eleanor Kellon student even though I think 'why' is extremely important).
Somewhere along the way we have lost our ability to debate intelligently and allow everyone to have their opinion, let alone use our Parelli foundation to allow the good things from other programs to build upon. _________________ Cheers, Jules.

I'm very happy to read this thread.
While there are things that I haven't been happy with Parelli, Im still thankful everyday for the skills I have learned from the program. When I read someone bashing the program it pains me a bit, kind of like having a family member trashed.
I did purchase the new levels and I'm happy with them.
I had to walk away from this forum for a while because of the Parelli bashing.
Thanks for making things more clear. |

| I for one am very grateful for the skills I learned from PNH - I am just ready to augment that knowledge and broaden my horsey horizons. This forum has been invaluable for providing other avenues to explore and for that I thank you all. |

I think I need to bump this post back to the top of the forum. Some seem to be slipping again and 'snarky' comments are seeping onto the rest of the forum. Please keep posts of that nature in the MONEY forum. _________________ Carol Nudell

Yes, as a newbie I've noticed this. It has not made me afraid to post anything, but it just seems antithetical to fruitful discussion. I love the Parelli work, and love the new things I'm discovering as well. Pat Parelli, Buck Brannaman, Bill Dorrance, Mark Rashid, Jonathan Field, soon Brent Graef and Carolyn Resnick and others I'm sure are all informing the path I'm now taking with my horse, and it all has great value. Working with my horse in this way is the most profound thing happening at this stage of my life!
But Parelli has given me the foundation on which all of this stands, and Parelli has been the biggest factor in promoting all of these great folks! And it's the way I found this forum!
So thanks for bumping this post! _________________ Alexandria & Dakota "Dun horse, magic horse, come when I call you!" Thundering hooves, flying mane, the dun horse came.

I joined this forum after the last post was made on this thread. So I know that these coments are continuing. I actually feel bad being on this forum and also being a member of the Savvy Club. Is that really the intention of this forum?
Agree to disagree about techniques and the direction of PNH, but please don't make personal comments about Pat and Linda Parelli. Unless one of you spends time with them from day to day, I have no idea how you could possibly make some of the coments about them that have been made.
Like Sammy425, I have left the forum for days on end because of the PNH bashing. I do not want to get caught up in trying to defend them on this forum.
Oh and I have quit going to the "Its not about the money" section on here. _________________ Katy

Hi Carol, Kate and fellow IATH members
Honestly, the bickering never bothers me. I tend to read, digest what's said, and then go on with what "I" believe. It is nice to have the bickering checked every one in a while, though. Thanks Carol.
When I first "came back" to horse training, after raising my children, I was introduced to John Lyons. I loved that such a fabulous trainer would share his methods so openly. When I started out in horses (40 years ago) the top trainers did not share so openly.
Something that stuck with me ever since that first day at one of John Lyons' clinics was when he said, "There's more than ONE way around a barn."
He was reminding his watchers to be respectful of differing methodologies/clinicians. Until I am "perfect" in my horsemanship....I will continue to listen and try to learn from any horseperson who is deserving of my respect.. Hee, hee...they don't even have to have a "big" name!!
Take care all, and enjoy your journey. _________________ Danni Goodman and Chiron, my RBI "Wondercolt", joined by Zane, my zany LBE and Starfire...Zane's younger sister, LBI/LBE. |
