Here it is!!
This Thread is for those of us reading Eckhart Tolle's works..
From "Practicing the Power of NOW"
page 58,,
Beyond the beauty of the external forms, there is more here : something that cannot be named, something ineffable, some deep, inner holy essence. Whenever and wherever there is beauty, this inner essence shines through somehow. It only reveals itself to you when you are present."
we dont' have to talk much about this, but this is what I want to do today while I am with Jet!.. |

Chinese philosophers call this Tao. That's a whole other thread!!!
Tolle "Let me say it again: the present moment is all you ever have. There is never a time when your life is not "this moment". Is this not a fact? This statement made a huge difference in my life. It seemed like I was always making mountains out of molehills and worrying about the future....incessant planning and plotting. Whew, it's over. I live as much as possible in the moment. _________________ Nancy

Not only am I not fussing so much about the future,, but the past was eating me alive mentally..
And the constant mind talk,, yack yack.. I could not even finish a decent Bible Study with out my mind goofing off!!! it was crazy! |

Striving to live in the now here too. Right now it is a concious effort. Something will start to bother me about tomorrow or what I have to do next Wednesday, etc. and I have to remind myself that those days may never come and I am enjoying THIS moment in time, this day.
Now if I could only figure out how to get others to live in the now. I am woking in ever so subtle ways to get my loved ones on board. Since they are not the reading types, it is thru me that this message will get relayed ever so slowly. _________________ Great Spirit, help me never to judge another until I have walked in his moccasins.- Sioux Prayer

Simply live by example. That's all you can really do anyway. _________________ "Excellence is the result of caring more than others think is wise; risking more than others think is safe. Dreaming more than others think is practical and expecting more than others think is possible." |

As to others I think what you will find is the will want the peace you have.. ask what it is your doing to be so calm and in control..
That's what is going on with me now . Although I have been fairly calm and in control,, i feel now I have the way to reach even deeper into that calmness..
It's like anything else, lead by example.. But I tell ya,, EVERYTHING around me is calm.. my dogs, horses, KIDS,, and yes my goofy husband could not get me all fired up last time he was home from the road! hahaha
I would quote the part in the book ,, but I have lent it to a friend of mine.. wishing she get's the same out of it I did!..
But when your in the NOW,, the argument won't happen,, it can't in the presence of your light..
It's very good stuff!
and very powerful! |

We are all "just in training" some of us are just a little farther down the road. It's ok we are really not ever going to get "there" anyway. _________________ Nancy

Ok I'm going to share some of these inspirational cards....I'm going to pick one randomly from the pile and see what it says
Here is the first one....
Direct your Attention Inward
Have a look inside yourself.
What kind of thoughts is your mind producing?
What do you feel?
Direct your attention into your body.
Is there any tension?
Once you detect that there is a low level of unease, the background static, see in what way you are avoiding, resisting, or denying life_
by denying the Now. _________________ Wanda

I've even tried it at work. My MOST stressful time of day is afternoons when I wish my work day would hurry up and be over. So I have successfully relaxed myself and actually enjoyed my afternoon at work a few times so far. This IS a work in progress too or a trainee attempt as Bit says ! _________________ Great Spirit, help me never to judge another until I have walked in his moccasins.- Sioux Prayer

This is a fabulous series, watch it if you can. I had a workbook that I downloaded from Oprah's website. I don't know if you can still get it but I'll check it out. Yes you can, it's called The New Earth class syllabus. _________________ Nancy

That's good, yes, take a look at YOU. Makes perfect sense. Really the only person we can control in this world is ourselves. We may influence others but we can only control and change our own thinking, good one ! _________________ Great Spirit, help me never to judge another until I have walked in his moccasins.- Sioux Prayer
