Not often i really like a book!
I got Debby Lush - the Building blocks of training, really good - very clear with sections you will all like about temperament, balance, release etc. its a great guide to taking your schooling further, with very clear steps and also how to solve the problems which occur - something which is often glossed over. Also include aids, the riders position etc
Not just for dressage enthusiasts, I think most people on the forum who are looking for a book on schooling would enjoy this book and get an awful lot from it!

Just published is Debby's first book, THE BUILDING BLOCKS OF TRAINING, a Step-by-Step Guide to the Gymnastic Development of the Equine Athlete. Designed to be as much a reference book as a cover-to-cover read, this book lays out in clear format and simple language the order in which information should be taught to a horse, the reasons why each exercise is important and how to teach them, with diagrams and colour photographs to illustrate the patterns and techniques. A Troubleshooting section follows each topic with suggestions as to why the most common problems occur, and suggestions for how to rectify them.
To develop a harmonious partnership with your horse, whether you have ambitions in the competition arena or not, you need to develop a two-way communication system that is clear to both of you. In "The Building Blocks of Training", Debby Lush, international dressage rider and senior instructor at the Training the Teachers of Tomorrow Trust, offers practical assistance in developing such a system, a progressive and logical one that is firmly rooted in classical training. The ultimate aim is to enhance the horse's mental and physical capabilities and so allow him to move easily and happily forward from the earliest simple steps to the more complicated efforts required further up the competition ladder. With step-by-step guides to every aspect of schooling from lungeing to lengthening (touching on the foundations to move on to the more advanced movements), and with troubleshooting sections to identify why things are going wrong and how to solve them, this book will be invaluable to countless horse and rider partnerships _________________ [IMG]
