I'm fairly new to NH, and am a first time horse-owner (now 46) even though I have loved horses my whole life.

We got Moody (or we found each other) 3+ years ago.  He is a beautiful, smart QH paint, sorrel & white with a wonderful personality.  He does have a chronic case of navicular so requires extra TLC, but is worth every bit of it.  He is teaching me so much.  We were having some issues (which I now understand to be due to my lack of leadership in the horse sense) and that made me seek out PNH (3/10).  It has made such a difference for us!

I'm really trying to learn and soak in as much as I can in this first year.  I've been studying hard and have been to clinics and taking lessons to accelerate my learning (vs. vacation).  My ultimate goal is to develop my horsemanship skills and have the best possible relationship with my Moody boy.

Thank you for allowing me to become part of your community here.

It sounds like your goals fit in here perfectly.   I believe everyone here wants both good horsemanship and great relationships with their horses.   LOTS of different methods discussed on how to blend the two so to accomplish both.

Welcome to IATH.

(and yes, we LOVE pictures!!)

This forum sounds like a perfect place for you and your horse I have learned so much here and always learn something from other people's questions and the answers they receive. No question is a dumb question.
I have had horses for 20 some years but found NH about 10 years ago. Found PNH maybe 6 years ago and that helped put things together for me. Now I can pull different methods from other trainers and add the information  in to what I have already learned. I feel horsemanship is always a process. We never arrive at the end, so to speak. And I certainly am at the beginnings of learning in comparison to many. But that is ok. I am comfortable with my horse and what I know.
Glad to have you here! And,yes, we all love pictures!

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome!  I'd love to add pictures, but haven't figured out how to get the file size small enough to upload.  I usually reduce the size using Window photo viewer, but the smallest file size is still too large.  I'm sure it's something simple, but I'll ask since I've tried now 2 nights in a row and still not having any luck.  I'm sure someone else has figured it out

Got an idea after I asked the question, and it finally worked.  There's the Moody boy!  He is beautiful inside and out

where abouts are you in WA? There's some really good NH trainers around there, including Chuck Kraft, one of Pats best friends.
