Pictures need to be taken with the camera on the ground, or even better with the foot on a platform.  Ideally, they should all be taken at the same distance from the foot.  Pictures need to be taken straight on to reduce distortion.  I am a bit forward on the lateral picture, just for reference.  Last pics are before and after 1st trim and second trim.

That was one scary FOOT Mike...I imagine all four were just as bad.

Just a question here.  If we put the foot on a platform, doesn't that distort the angle of the pastern to the trim?   You wouldn't be able to see if the angles are correct.

I trim the hoof without reference to the bone column.  Yes, for radiography, the horse should have all 4 feet on the same plane.  Most vets only put a platform under the foot they are working on.
