Today was AMAZING!! Magic started my new year off in the BEST way!
I looked up and saw that jodi's (pedestal*pony) horse Charlie was laying out sunbathing and napping. I was wishing that i could catch Magic while he was laying down some time. Well what do you know, i look up and HE'S LAYING DOWN! He was just chilling relaxing in the sun. I asked jodi if he would stay there if i jumped the fence and took pictures. She said "well, if he really trusts you as much as he makes it seem, he'll stay" i got a little nervous that he would get up and leave as soon as i started walking towards him but i went anyway.
That awesome horse just sat there while i walked over and knelt down to him. I talked to him with the calmest voice i could and i loved every second of it!
Magic definately made the first day of 2012 AMAZING! _________________ Magic

I can still remember the first time that Sante ever let me approach him whilst lying down.
STILL the best horse day of my life
He gave me the best Christmas present a few weeks ago
I was mucking out his paddock, and he lay down not to far away from me, sunning himself.
i went and sat down next to him, he was groaning loudly - totally blissed out I stroked his face, and talked to him, told him how clever he was, we shared territory like this for about 15 minutes before neighbour came out and started his chainsaw..
The property owner came out a few minutes after taht saying 'That was just magic, just magic! Your horse loves you so much!"
Best feeling in the world isn't it :D |

Baby still loves his naps. Although he is not much of a baby anymore.

I think it's real special if you've never had it happen before.
People on this forum are pretty special if they think this is 'normal' in the general world of horses and people. _________________ Author of

It's happened only a couple of times with my mare. More so when we had geldings years ago. They tended to be lazy I love just cuddling with them when they are like that. Mandi, that is a great feeling of them trusting you:) Enjoy your youth and your time spent with your horse:) _________________ beth |

thank you guys and gals! it's definately the coolest thing i've reached with Magic so far.
im definately looking forward to another chance like that in the future
i guess to some people that's normal (and yes, it really IS that odd for some of us) but i'm still happy for others either way
p.s. : LOVE THE PICTURE OF BABY!! _________________ Magic

Mike that's a great video. Reminds me of my Bubba....he grew up in my lap. I thought maybe I made a mistake buying a baby at the time, but I would do it all over again, for the special relationship I have with him. _________________ -Becky
