Wow...Better hide Kitt..his mane and tail would be worth fortune!!!!  Double sided thick mane and tail that drags the ground.
Seriously though..have people nothing better to do?

The only horse in danger at my place is Rosie. She is pretty easy. My other good manes and tails can't be caught by strangers.
When I was a kid the neighbor kid was jealous of my 4-H ribbons and cut Betsy's tail hair off and cut a zig-zag in her mane. It was pretty sad..he didn't really have anything to be jealous of. She was a rotten pony and all my ribbons were the last place in each class (not that I told him that..  ) It took a while, but it all grew out.
They had a rash of this a few years ago, all tail hair with Paso Finos to make fake tails for QH's and Appy's who don't grow their own. A good fake tail sells for several hundred dollars.

We had a friend's horse up for local high points get shaved the night before. He never showed again.
