Hey everyone. I don't know if anyone remembers me... it's been a long time! I am bigsis2many from the Savvy Club (I think I left the SC in 2008/2009? can't remember for sure), and then I was LibertyBelle here for a little while. I didn't post a whole lot. I know I'm seeing lots of user names and people I recognize here, so hopefully some of y'all remember me!!
I'm no longer totally following Parelli. I still use a lot of the principles, but I combine many different training techniques and stick with what works best for me and my horses! I spent this summer at Miracle Mountain Ranch as a horsemanship instructor, and I learned a lot about training and riding while I was there.
I have 3 horses now, I actually downsized from 5 to 3 horses this week. It's been eventful... They both went to fantastic loving homes, and I am able to financially support my 3 MUCH better now. The 2 mares I got rid of were 20 and 26, and trying to feed them through the winter as well as 22 year old Lizzy was so difficult. Everyone is situated now and it's been great. I'm actually back to the 3 I used to have; Lizzy, Sebastian, and Belle. I teach riding lessons on both Lizzy and Belle, and Sebastian is very close to being ready to give lessons on. He is so incredibly laid back for a 3 year old. I definitely have loved getting to raise him from day 1.
Sadly, right now teaching riding lessons has been my main contact with my horses as I am super busy finishing my senior year as well as working. Hopefully that will change this summer and next school year!

I just wanted to post to say hi again, and also, I was given tickets to the Parelli tour stop in Conyers, GA this month, and I wanted to see if anyone here was going to that. I am planning on taking my sister. I'd love to meet up with anyone while I'm there!

Hopefully this is an okay place to post this thread.. There were a few different boards that looked appropriate and I wasn't sure. Haha.

Just got down to three horses, myself.  Much more affordable than five, especially on farrier day.  Welcome back!

Yep, sooo much cheaper! I actually traded another horse this fall for 5 free trimmings for each horse (this was when I had 5 horses, so I have extra trimmings now!), which has been great and lasting me quite awhile as my horses feet wear really well on their own and they don't need trimmings too often. When this guy offered that trade to me it was after I had spent a couple weeks freaking out over how I would be able to afford getting there feet done, and also needing to get rid of that horse, so it was such a God thing.
I got hay yesterday that will last me through the rest of the winter, so now I just have to worry about feed for Lizzy and shots/coggins this spring (which I couldn't afford to do last year   ).
And now... deep sigh of relief..... Haha.

Carolyn, I remember you from the Savvy Forum. I have often wondered how things are going for you. It sounds like they are going quite well. How old is Belle now? About 5?

Hi Carolyn.

I don't' remember you, but I am going to be at the Conyers tour stop. I'm only going for 1 day, though. I'll be there on Saturday, the 25th.

I'd love to meet you there, if you'd like. I may be bringing a lady who has a horse. She's been around people who have a negative view of Parelli and so she has the same idea. She thinks that horses taught with these methods are dull and robotic! Too funny.

I'm hoping she actually does come with me, but if not...I'll be there by myself.

PM me if you'd like to arrange to meet.

Danni
