My newest read, and reallly is helping me understand not only how the horse thinks, but how the horse feels. How I can change my mind to be a better fit for horses. Wnderful book, and it's on Kindle! _________________ "It was once said I should clear my head for one cannot ride a Thoroughbred. Hot they are. And too fast they be. Forever on the fly. I got it for Christmas, haven't started it yet. I've been reading Buck's "Believe"...it's not going as fast as Faraway Horses did.

I'm reading Zen & Horseback Riding . I never realized how important the psoas muscles are, or that they are located or attached to L12 in our vertabres. Always thought they were totally in the butt area.

I'm not sure where you are in this Deb, but I am REALLY enjoying it! His early life is a lot like mine was. I am normally a worded person, but the spirituality of being with horses is something I've never tried to put into words before. It is really hitting home with me. I keep saying, "yes" "yes" "yes" through it. It certainly goes a long way to explain why I'm so at peace with my horses. _________________ Carol Nudell

He was talking about how horses learn, and that just before a breakthrough the horse appears to forget everything you have taught him. Very pivotal time for the horse, and real important for you to be patient and gently steer the horse back to desired behavior. Important bit of the learning process for the horse. Just when all seems lost, there it is. _________________ "It was once said I should clear my head for one cannot ride a Thoroughbred. Hot they are. And too fast they be. Forever on the fly.
