A.F.G.E.

Do you know what this stands for?  AFGE?

From the same book It's Not About The Horse.

Ah ha moment for me

It stands for "another friggin' (or whatever F word you like ) growth experience".  We have to remember that whatever challenge/discomfort we face in our daily lives has been "chosen" by our spirit (was chosen by us) .  We can either grow from it or keep repeating it.  It will be repeated

GROW or REPEAT ...Wow

'04 Toyota...3 clutches in 3 months   What lesson am I not learning
Yes_But_Neigh

To not put that car in N going down hills and at stop lights instead of using your clutch?

Ya know what I learned Wanda? Always buy the book that you are reading    Can't wait!
bit

Yes, you repeat what you don't learn.  You also repeat what you do learn, on a different level of growth.  My spiritual teacher told us that it looks a bit like the helix on a strand of dna.  You learn a lesson, you grow, and then that same lesson comes along again, but you learn it from a whole new elavated perspective of awareness.
Maybe next time you'll get rid of that ride after clutch number two!  lol! Or here's a thought, you'll buy a car that is healthy, and keep it well maintained, and when something does break, you'll either fix it, or you'll see that it's possibly a car that needs to be traded in for another very, healthy car.  Or, something like this...

I walk down the street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk
I fall in.
I am lost... I am hopeless.
It isn't my fault.
It takes forever to find a way out.

I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I pretend I don't see it.
I fall in again.
I can't believe I'm in the same place.
But it isn't my fault.
It still takes a long time to get out.

I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I see it is there.
I still fall in... it's a habit
My eyes are open
I know where I am
It is my fault.
I get out immediately.

I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I walk around it.

I walk down another street.

Nancy, The interesting thing about this book is that as I said a friend loaned it to me, who is by her own words...not very spiritual...however her horse is doing the job he was sent to her to accomplish
IMO of course.

We have had some interesting conversations in the past that may have started a search on her part for something, but what, she doesn't know yet....or helped reitterate what her horse has been trying to teach her.  BTW..Horse is doing a great job reshaping this

The interesting thing about this is she loaned me the book and stated...Now this may not be as advanced as you are     and you may find it boring. She also said some of it was a little chicken soupy.

First off...I couldn't find any chicken soup.  Secondly, there were parts of this book that were written for people who have some level of spriitual understanding.  You know, a little more advanced than some who don't know what awareness is at all.

Hmmm...Now I am thinking, maybe when we read a book, the parts of the book (knowledge) that we are ready for, are pointed out to each individual as they read.

I think that maybe two years ago, had I read this book, I may have found it to be chicken soupy as well.  Make sense?

It's not about the clutch and never has been.   ( actually, I have never been bothered by this clutch...now hubby on the other hand

I've been told by family members that if you don't learn the lessons God is trying to teach you, you will keep having to repeat them until you learn what he was trying to get you to learn. Hmmmm........same concept

Have to agree with this author on many things.  All problems can be traced back to either Fear, Self-doubt or both and "you are responsible for 100% of your 50% of any relationship", to mention just two!

Another major thought was in the last few pages of the book: " If you spot it you got it!"  Bad qualities as well as good   This has been something that I have been aware of for just a short time, and can be a real enlightening experience if you are honest and introspective.  The new idea was the aspect of seeing the good in others as  a reflection of what you possess.  Doing an inventory of that now

Fearless

"In the current reality it may appear that it is at the brink of disaster.  Every moment being filled with a crescendo of negativity.  One wonders where it will all lead to as the parameters of your world wavers.  Many of you feel that the end is near, but is it?

Without fear it is a beginning.

Know that spirit is ever present for all within every heart beat in the physical.  Often in the chaos one feels separated from their soul while walking through their lives.  It is important to remember that you create your reality and it must be done from a fearless place.

Being physical at this time does require great courage.  So much fear is being hurled into the mass consciousness that many of you have become paralyzed within it.

Attempt to regain your balance while moving past fear into your own soul.  It is in this space you wil find that bravery to defeat negativity.

By creating in a fearless space there is great hope for your planet.  Connecting with others positively will change the imbalance that is now occurring.

The end is not near.  What will happen is the evolution of the planet and the advancement of your soul.

    Be fearless."

This message from Veronica really resonated with me after reading the book.  All problems do seem to take root in fear and self-doubt, so be fearless all you 'spirit thread folk'

Now Nancy, he doesn't seem to take into account the Idiot Factor.   You see plenty of this on YouTube and in e-mails, people doing STUPID things, trying to take themselves out of the gene pool.   Fear or Self-doubt would probably be a healthy thing for these, predominantly young men or the girls who listen to them.

There is also the My Mind is Elsewhere Factor, which seems to get me my most AFGE's.   I'm thinking about something OTHER then what I'm doing and do something really dumb.  My favorite is going shopping without the checkbook, but at least it's painless.   One of my favorites with a horse was when I thought I'd try to ride Rosie bareback and realized after I got on that I hadn't taught her to ride with one rein and the halter yet.     ooops

Then there is the Can't Remember Shit factor...which kind of goes back to the checkbook, but also applies to the grocery list and shopping bags, both of which I forget on a more/less regular basis.
