Another Question!(lol!)
Anyone heard of Chris Irwin?
I picked up his book, that I got from a riding instructor at least 6 years ago, and I was flipping through it. There's some good stuff in it, and it made me curious. I also saw that he was the one who posted the video on Youtube about inviting Robert Whitaker and Catwalk to a training session or something. Not quite sure what I thought about that.
But he has some good principles, I was wondering what you guys thought of him, or if you have experiences with his methods.

I only heard of him from the response to the Catwalk video, but on the main Ontario horse board he was well spoken of.

Canadian I think? I read both books: Dancing with your Dark Horse and Horses Don't Lie. His style of writing is a lot like Rashid's. I really enjoyed both books.

Thanks for your input guys!
I just finished the second chapter in his book, and wasn't too impressed. Some of his ideas are good, but I guess he believes that horses needs to be shown who's boss, and that passiveness isn't going to get you far.
Hmmm, don't know if I'll be reading the rest of it, but even if you glean one thing, it's better than nothing.

What i look for in demo`s is change in the horse for the better, achieved in a positive manner.. I saw neither. He also tried to do an "effective" porcupine with a lunge whip.
So even if his books would be a nice read, hed be the last person id look at when it comes to dressage
If your looking for more dressage imput , Mark Russel is a great start.. More advanced are the french masters past and current Like Philippe Karl.
