Anyone up for training some wild horses?

This is your chance to put the WHR to work...

I was contacted yesterday by my neighbor who gentles mustangs for the BLM.  The BLM rounded up four horses they believe to be Paso Finos, two 4-year-old uncut colts, 1 mare and her foal.   The mare and older colts are tri-color pintos. Her foal is solid.  I have contacted the only person who used to own Paso Finos in that area and he said they are not his, he put 110 horses on their ranch there and took off 110.  I personally believe they could be his stock, foals that were run off a couple years ago, but reality is that even if that is the case, the man is in no condition now to do anything with the horses, he was in a very bad motorcycle accident a few years ago and has literally been giving horses away.  He had over 200 horses at one point.

I am tied up with healing Zar, both time and financially, and physically no longer able to handle wild horses.

Please let me know if you are interested.  I am calling the BLM later today to see why they are certain these are Paso Finos and not mustangs.  I will give you the contact information to arrange picking them up from the holding facility.

Oh lordy, my ears pricked up, my tail was wagging and before I knew it, I was thinking, "hey, I could take the mare and foal!" Momentary insanity.  I assume they are out your way?

They are all in the BLM holding facility in Delta, UT.

I hate that I am in Alaska sometimes.  Too dang far away to do anything or I'd be building fences right now.  Hubby and I were just talking about something like this.

I have called or e-mailed everyone that they might belong to.  So far, no takers. I also listed them on the Paso Fino Urgent Rescue, but most of those people are on the East Coast or South east.   I have a call in to the BLM about them, but other then try to find an answer for them, I am unable to do more.  The BLM considers them abandoned domestic horses and not mustangs.  As such, they will go to auction/slaughter.

I really hate the times we live in, when people will just turn horses loose on the range to fend for themselves.

Well, we have found takers for the two colts (soon to be geldings).   So, still need a taker for the mare and foal...Yo Deb!!!!!

lol, I'm going to be challenged to keep Hawk and Eclipse ridden, and Bit and Shaun in shape.  I wish I was younger and richer.  I'd take them in a heart beat.
