Thank you very much.
I own the book, but it seems very basic to me (haven't read it).
Maybe there are some other books or papers out there?

You can download the NRC Nutrient Requirement for Horses 1989 for free here:
http://www.google.com/books?id=dGIrAAAAYAAJ
This is the report on which Eleanor Kellon's NRC plus course is based, although the latest edition of the report is 2007? but you'd have to buy this one.

Finding a good horse nutrition book is a bit like finding the holy grail!!
The best you can do is hunt the net for all you can find that is current & relevant. You will find little bit everywhere about many & various aspects to feeding a horse. A lot will be conflicting or not suited to your area, breed or needs.
Feed companies themselves do a lot of good research but places like Kentucky Research Station (is that what it's called? I'm having a mind block!) probably do the most research not linked to a particular brand.

Dr. Kellon also has a great supplement book that does include some very good nutrition information. It is the Guide to Equine Supplements and Nutraceuticals.
I suggest you just take her course. It is amazing. You will learn everything you could ever hope to know in 10 short weeks. Great discussion too during the 10 week course via Yahoo Groups.
Check her out: www.drkellon.com
Start with the NRC Plus! Awesome. I will never look at nutrition and supplements the same way ever again!
