Erin's e-book lead me to auras and some exercises to help you see them. I did some reading and practicing and then it was off to the bathroom. Perfect background for the attempt. White background and dim lighting behind me. Large mirror in front of me. I focused on my forehead and let the peripheral vision take over........... didn't take long for the desired effects. Interesting color and not all around me just on the right side of my head and shoulder. Purple....... and very vibrant. I stopped as I found it kind of exhausting. Anyone have some knowledge that they would like to share? I ordered a book by Mark Smith that has some good reviews.

Fantastic! I can 'feel' aura but I can't see them. Would love to learn how. So far I can only feel REALLY bad auras which leads me to 'see' bad things people have done in my minds eye, and good auras just feel great but I can't 'feel' the good like I do with people who have bad auras, I just get a good overall feeling.

Ditto. Bad auras are easier for me to feel too. The ickiest one in recent memory was my ex-roommate's boyfriend. Couldn't stand to be in the same room with him, he felt disgusting to be around so I moved out of there fast. I don't see auras either. It would be interesting to learn.

I feel them too.......boy do I feel the bad ones. Always just thought it was being empathic; a handy skill for sure. This is where I have been today.

Reading the site now. Don't know a whole lot about auras, but to me the difference between sensing an aura and being empathetic is: With an aura, it's the general overall feel of the person good or bad, while empathy is more of what they're feeling and going through in the particular moment.

Had to laugh though...when I was reading about the whole auras being halos thing, I was just imagining my dad's reaction. He hates all "new age" things, so I'd be like, hate to break the news to you, but see all those halos in all your religious pictures? Those are auras! Oh, the horror, lol. I am such a mean daughter. angel7

I consider empaths as able to react to the evil in a person also. Maybe an incorrect appraisal but I never attributed my recoil to aura but to feelings given off. May have to reevaluate as I find out more about the auras.

See, with me, for instance, I might be able to feel they're being honest in the moment, but if I feel that they're dishonest in general as a personality trait, I still recoil. You know what I mean?

Been trying to see my aura according to the directions on that website. Thanks for sharing! Don't know if I'm doing it right, but it's kind of fun to see myself as a glowy thing... lol. Mostly I've been seeing green with a bit of purple mixed in. Purple seems to hang around the right side of my head - don't know what that means lol. Had to laugh at the green meaning - plants usually do not survive long under my care. Maybe that's changed now though, I haven't tried to grow anything for years. Though when I did the close your eyes snapshot thing, it seemed more pink with yellow around the head? Maybe I'm not doing it right? I have a hard time not blinking lol, that probably messes it up... I'm doing it in moderate lighting in front of a mirror in my room, with my white door as background. There are very light pink, almost white walls surrounding it. Oh well as I get better maybe it'll become clearer.

Been doin some research and the purple indicates spirituality or journey of spirit, Laura. I work with a lady who says that reading auras runs in her family and that they all see them. I asked her what the colors mean and she replied "don't know, never looked into it" She said she sees yellow all around me, so I went to look it up......... means intellect or analytical. Go figure..........

Can't wait for my book to get here!

I don't profess to know anything about auras or colors, but in the books Journey of Souls and Destiny of Souls, the colors of the spirit (which could be portrayed differently than bodily auras, I don't know) can mean various different things; some are as follows:

white: purity clarity restlessness

silver: ethereal, trust, flexibility

red: passion, intensity, sensitivity

orange: exuberant, Impulsive, openness (this is funny as this is my sons favorite color, and suits him EXACTLY.)

yellow: protective, strength, courage (this is interesting, as before I'd read these books, I had chosen this color as the color of my 'protective shield' after I'd read some disturbing information.)

green: healing, nurturing, compassion

brown: grounded, tolerant, industrious (or, full of shit. LOL J/k)

blue: knowledge, forgiveness, revelation

purple: wisdom, truth, divinity

Apparently we can have more than one color and they can change depending on 'where we are at' at any given moment.

Making my way through Mark Smith's book- Auras
I am getting better each day in seeing my own. Usually pale yellow or white in the morning and more colorful later in the day. I haven't tried anyone else, kinda creepy staring past someone and trying to get the proper background. Mark recommends practicing on plants...... will give it a go. Maybe I'll try Max, he's a game little guy and already thinks I'm a kook

LOL I just asked him if I could put him up against the wall and stare at him.......... he said that he really didn't have a problem with that. Like I said, he knows me!

I have not yet got to the point I have to read auras or really thought about them.......but I suspect that I feel them!

I have been trying to read my own regularly out of curiousity...probably need to do more reading. I do seem to consistently get purple though, in a variety of different environments and lighting, etc. There are other colors too but harder to discern, especially when I have to resist looking directly at them, lol...still get green sometimes and I think lately I've seen blue too. I do get a whitish/yellowish glow further out, maybe that is part of the aura too?

LOL about Max...I don't think I plan on asking anyone, lol.

Max is my marvelous grandson. I did make an attempt to read his but got only a glimpse of white........ he is ADHD and just couldn't stay still

I'm getting a lot of pale yellow with it verging on gold in bursts. Odd stuff. I also feel auras so it was just a natural to "look" for them. It's going to take a lot of practice; it does seem to come quicker each time.

Out for a walk with my horse this am. When I came in I had the thought that it might be interesting to look at my aura right after spending horse time. I did see it quicker and it did seem larger (super aura?)
No real color change; pale yellow/white with a hint of green. Don't know if the change is that I'm getting better at seeing it OR it's more pronounced following a great horse experience. Interesting regardless

Looked up the green, wow....... harmony and balance, calming, located in the thyroid and neck area which is where I saw it
