bit and teethI have a new bit, thought he would really like it. Am riding with more concentrated reins and he wasn't liking the snaffle for that. He hasn't liked the new bit much either. This morning I put it on him and really starting checking out how it laid in his mouth. There is a tooth, maybe canine, that is between the front teeth and molars. this bit rests right behind that tooth, touching it. I took the bridle up until there was really more wrinkle in his lips than I wanted and it still rubs that tooth. I put the snaffle on him and it doesn't. Anybody got any insight to this? Could the bit rubbing the tooth be what is bothering him?
Sorry if I sound stupid but I have always not like dealing with the mouth at all. Bad owner I guess but I am ignorant of this area.

Something I learned about too, so don't feel stupid. I found out mares can have them too, sometimes. At 58, just from this formum, I can't believe how much I've learned about horses and horsemanship. You could go bitless with the literider, or get them pulled, whatever fits your budget. Hey, you are one smart human for even seeing there was something wrong. Are you kidding me? You did good!
