Can you please vote for my student and her essay?One of my students, Rita, has entered an essay contest sponsored by Horse and Rider magazine. Her essay is adorable and thoughtful.
She is the nicest lady, close to 70, and has one of those appy mares you hear about. Can you say opinionated? She came to our barn to improve her skills so she could feel safer on the trails. Now she has pretty well mastered First level work (in between trail rides ) . Could you please take a minute and vote for her? It would mean alot. Here's the link;

Push the "rate" button under her picture. The number of votes is only updated once an hour, so your vote will count even if the counter doesn't change. Thanks!

Sent my vote. Cute write up by her, and oh so true!! LOL
I think she will reach that "B" long before the 5 year mark though.

My double h packers still have a dent in the toe from an appy running my foot into a tree. It was on purpose. She's 70? And I'm whining because I'm 59? She about nailed it. She has one more vote!

Very thoughtful write up. She sounds like my kind of horse person! And what is wrong with Appys? We had one that was a real honey...anything that she didn't know was our fault but we loved her! From a standstill she could jump a 4 ft. fence A little too talented:)

Thanks for all the votes everyone! You can vote once a day (hint hint)
Rita and Frannie appreciate it!
I LOVE Appys! I evented a spunky appy mare wth a heart of gold that was a former polo pony from Summerland (Santa Barbara). We competed through Prelim wthout a single jumping or time fault! She won everything in Area VI when we were competing in the 90's. I still have people come up to me at horse trials and mention Rosie!
