I got my package from them on Thursday (ordered on Sunday), so the FIRST plus for doing business with them is service! It's amazing.

I ordered 3 DVDs and a manual. I've only looked at the manual so far, but I want to say that anyone who is looking for a SIMPLE, easy to follow "how to" manual, this one is it. It is also in very BIG type, which I appreciate, so I can use it at the coral without putting on my reading glasses. (YUK YUK)

It is a lot like Cherry Hill's 101 Arena Exercises book, but only talks about those maneuvers you'd do in a dressage 'dance' with your horse. It very plainly talks about stride, weight, the training aids, direct and supporting rein, and the riders weight, rein and leg aids. So, you do this with this rein, shift your weight on this seat bone, apply this leg where, and THIS is what you get...and a diagram of which feet are affected and how they'll track to make the correct move. It is a very simple way of directing each foot.

It's very simple, straight forward. No philosophy or wasted words. Nothing long winded or waxing poetic about it. Simple, straight forward HOW TO DO IT.

It does not get into nuances of 'dressage' type performance, or any of the exercises you might want to do to condition your horse, but does talk some about seat position for weight and balance.

Anyone who is looking for a straight forward HOW TO book, to go with all their other training material and horse psychology would do well to buy the manual. It's only 42 pages and well illustrated.

Thought I would stick this here for those interested in "Cowboy Dressage".
Al Dunning and Lynn Palm are both very succesful in many disciplines and I suspect this dvd would be a nice addition to many folks library. I'm adding it to my wish list for the holidays.

Interesting, thanks Jack. I have Al's original Reining training VHSs, and have used them a lot. I think Cowboy Dressage goes a step beyond reining, as you are doing "High School" maneuvers in western tack. If you get this, let me know what all it covers.

I have watched two of Eitan's videos, Poetry in Motion and Cowboy Dressage, Building the Foundation. I would recommend Poetry in Motion for people learning to understand the gates and how the horse works and balances himself. It's very well done with graphics of bones, muscles and tendons, for how the horse's body works. It's a great education.

Building the Foundation is a "how to" up to getting leads, how to effect and direct different feet and which cues to use. It's pretty basic. He uses a small coral and corners for help, which is a great idea. It is probably a waste of money for most people through the Old Level 2 or who do Cherry Hill or dressage.
