Depth of frogs

Hello Everyone,
I've got a question about frogs. At times my horses frogs seem to be deeper and more defined than at other times. Sometimes they are more shallow and harder.
None of them are having issues with their feet or showing signs of lameness or discomfort.
Just curious if and what this means....Thanks !

frog changes due to changes in environment, and sometimes other things. I'll let someone who knows more answer more specifically.

well since nobody answered me (except carefreegirl) (thanks !) I decided to try using thrush remedy and cleaning more frequently. Result, harder and more shallow frogs and less odor. I don't think it was full blown thrush maybe just a little. Thanks anyway ! So I will now clean 3 times a week instead of two and monitor more carefully.
