Gillie's gone to schoolGillie, my 3 year old Welsh Section D, has gone to be started, leaving me and Gillie's mum missing him, but we've been sent some photos which I thought I'd share with you guys. He's been gone 2 weeks now, he's not too far away so I go and see him every Saturday, he should be home in time for Christmas.

Well he's looking reasonable comfortable with the process.

Thanks Clarissa, he seems happy, he's only had the one bucking session. The trainer's only complaint of him is that his attention wanders to see what's happening elsewhere, but he's in a new place with new horses around him, and he is a very curious horse anyway.

He looks great! Um, and nice looking trainer too. Eclipse will have been gone two mos at boarding school by the time I bring her home. Can't wait to see her! Will you be sending him back for a spring tune up? What will you be using him for? Love his tail! You can almost see that easy swing in his hips when he trots! How old is he? You must be so excited!

Hi Deb - the plan is to work him for 4 weeks this time, he can then come home for 3 months, then go back for up to 4 weeks again in Spring. I mainly just trail ride, he'll be taking over from his mum who's developed a bit of arthritis in her hip, so I'm taking her out less. Gillie is 3, he'll turn 4 in May, he's built for trotting, not quite so good at canter he's quite clumsy at that.
Here's a better shot of the trainer for you

Gymnastic exercises can help improve Gillie's canter quite a bit. It looks like he's getting a good start

Great series of photos - and stunning horse - but I have to ask... is the trainer single? I think I"m in love.
