Hello from CanadaI live in the Toronto area and am playing at Level Two with a rescued PMU mare, named Xena.
My relationship with Xena began on voluntary basis. Her owner was trying to free lease her as a broodmare, because Xena was anxious, withdrawn, timid and over-reactive - an extreme RBE. I volunteered to play the seven games with Xena, as I don't yet have a horse of my own and wanted to practice my Level One Parelli skills.
We began playing together in February 2009. At the time, Xena wouldn't allow me to touch her at all, she spooked often and was obviously way too much horse for me. Six months later she was affectionate, focused and becoming braver by leaps and bounds. She's not yet rideable, but I have hope.
In 2010 I plan to buy Xena, as she's already my horse, heart and soul.
