Hello from Croatia, Photos now addedHi there everybody. Another newbie here.
I am English but moved to Croatia 3 years ago, where i rediscovered my love of horses which I have had since childhood. I had a pause from ownership (previously had a Welsh Cob Section D Mare) and regular riding for some ten years before taking up riding again seriously a year ago and trying to get up to speed again.
I have bought a youngster, Croatian Sports Horse (Hanoverian father and Trakehner mother), named Santiago, aged 3 and a half and am working him on the ground now and he is backed.
I have been using various training techniques including Tellington and have just started looking at Parelli. I am a follower of classical dressage also.
I hope to be able to post photos once i work out how!!??
Anyway, great to be on the forum
Now with photos:

welcome!
I think you'll enjoy yourself here.
Many on the forum do parelli (or did at one time). However, we explore and discuss many other methods as well. I know I've learned a ton from the forum!

Welcome...Santiago is just beautiful.
Looks like you have him in a bitless bridle...similar to Dr. Cooks.
Hey in that second picture, I'm curious, what's the white strap looking thing you have around the rump? I'm sure there is a purpose for it.
Looking forward to learning more about you and Santiago....post lots...we like to learn from each other...even if you learning involved a mistake!!!

That is a bum bandage (a Tellington Jones tool). One of its uses to to help a young horse be more aware of his hind quarters, giving almost a sense of security but also encouraging engagement of the hind quarters and lengthening stride. I have found it work with the engagement for sure and have seen my horse lifting his back more with this bandage. I alternate with and without.
