Hello from GermanyHi,
I'm from Lower Saxony, Germany, and playing with my fifteen-year-old haflinger horse Darius in Level 1/2. As a Left Brain Introvert, he's really challenging my savvy every day. We just started playing in level two on line and riding in level one freestyle.
(Parelli) Natural Horsemanship is so fascinating! I love the horsenality stuff - very interesting.
Linda Parelli is such a great teacher. She's one of my examples.
Also Karen Rohlf. She's amazing! I love her videos!
I searched something to get Natural Horsemanship and dressage together and that's why her 'Dressage Naturally' is so interesting for me.
I think this forum is a great possibility for me to improve my English.
Best regards from Germany,
Laura

Welcome Laura. I think if you search Karen Rohlf here you'll find quite a few threads on her and natural dressage.

I took German in high school. I almost remember how to count (hey, it was a long time ago!)
What I LOVE is German cooking though! (OK, I love ALL kinds of food) I married a German and my MIL cooks saurbraten, dumplings, potato pancakes with applesauce, sweet and sour red cabbage....and of course he homebrews some great, strong beer. And Ruebens are one of our specialties (world's best, IMHO...LOL)
I went to Octoberfest a few years ago and there was a recipe with sausage and cabbage I'd LOVE to find the recipe for. Sound familiar?
Anything else that's incredible? I'd love to try it.

Thank you for your welcome!
@Carol I haven't gone to the Oktoberfest yet, but maybe in a few years. Bavaria isn't that near.
It's really funny that you love this German/Bavarian food.
I'm sorry, but I think I can't help you finding the recipe for sausage and cabbage, because I don't know what you exactly mean. Could you describe it? Do you have some pics?
@Nancy Of course! You'll help me with my English and I'll teach you German! --> It's "Auf Wiedersehen!"
Best regards,
Laura

Hello Laura...We have a newby in our barn who is from Germany. She and her husband and horse moved from Germany to Newfoundland in Dec. Talk about culture shock....the poor dears..
She is struggling to learn English but in my opinion is doing very well indeed...but am sure she must be having a hard time trying to exist in our English world
Anyway welcome to the forum

Laura...I think it was 30 years ago. No pictures that I know of.
It was a sweet sausage, sauerkraut and onions in a chaffing dish. It was YUMMY.
-------------
How about some pictures??? I don't think we have any other German members. I'd love to see pictures.

Thanks for your welcome!
@whudson Oh yeah, I think I understand what you mean.
@happycat Haflingers are great horses! The golden horse with the golden heart. Which are the horsenalitys of your ponies?
Darius has 1/4 Arabian blood. His grandfather is the Arabian Gihan Sha. Maybe you know him? There are some haflingers that descend of this horse.
@Carol That's a long time!
I haven't found the recept yet, but I'll give it to you if I find it.
Best greetings,
Laura

Welcome Laura!
It's good to have you here.
I am the official Haflinger lover on this forum- I don't get to own one, but a I adopt all that show up here as my long distance ponies! Do you have pictures? I dream of owning one some day.
Karen Rohlf has the best stuff on Dressage Naturally - her book and videos are wonderful and easy to understand.
I used to have an Arabian who was the best horse ever. Currently I own two miniature mares.
Again, welcome!

well I can answer this one, I took two years of german in high school, so not fluent by any means but yes you can just say 'wiedersehen' though the formal way to say it (to elders, teachers, professionals, etc.) is "Auf Wiedersehen." at least that is what I remember, she can correct me if I am wrong.
