Hello from willinghorses (HeatherF on SCF)

Indeed it seems the best part of the party has moved on here... support with no fee? I like it!

I'm still paying for Savvy Club for the DVDs and online info, but this seems like a good place to relax and be ourselves, share helpful ideas and move ourselves along the horsemanship journey.

I am 36 years old, live in Nelson, BC, Canada - have three horses (well, 2 1/2 one is a mini!) and I'm currently playing near the end of Level 2. We have patterns, LHB, L1 & L2 packs and I've seen a bunch of the Success Series...  occasional clinics with Fawn Anderson and spectated a Buck Brannaman clinic last year. Phenomenal horseman and human being that he is! I plan to attend more of his clinics and hopefully ride in one soon. We have all of his DVDs except for ranch roping... I'll wait until I've achieved Level 3/4 before we delve into that.

My hubby is non-horsey, but loves them from afar (doesn't want to commit to the time it takes). He's seen every Parelli DVD I own (and the Buck Brannaman) and he supports me by caring for our 16 month old daughter on my play nights and for clinics. We live on 2 acres in the Kootenays 15 minutes from Nelson, BC and have chickens, 2 dogs and 2 cats as well as the ponies.

Snowy here, looking forward to spring, but managing to play with one horse (Maya) 3 days a week at an indoor arena a 20 minute drive from home. There are not very many dedicated Parelli practitioners nearby, but there are a core group of us that get together for the clinics. Hoping to inspire more folks to play this way by becoming involved in our local riding club as a director, having regular play nights where anyone can join us to see what's up and organizing clinics and lesson days with Fawn.

I'm fascinated by the process and love feeling the progress and relationship that has built with my little mare, Maya - hoping to be able to play with Bailey (4yo QH mare) more this year and start getting her to Level 2 online before we start her under saddle. I want to do it, so I'm working hard on myself and playing with Maya to get myself ready.

In the process of selling my domain name of 12 years epona.com and buying a used fusion saddle with the proceeds. Can't wait! We're currently riding bareback because our Wintec Wide just doesn't quite work for us - downhill saddle on a downhill horse. I now have a new domain name willinghorses.com because I want to teach this one day, whether officially as a Parelli Instructor or just as a neighbourhood, lifelong learner - after I graduate Level 3. willinghorses.com currently houses my old pottery site, but I no longer make pots no time and not enough desire (or I'd make the time) - I am developing a new horsemanship website - for now about our journey, and one day for my business.

Long story - but it is a comprehensive-ish introduction.

Love, language and leadership to you all,
learningthedance
