heloHi there, hope you dont mind me joining you guys
My name is Debbie i have two girls 10 and 20 :-Z
Thats the family now for the important bit :-) LOL
I have four neddies in total, two ponies which are out on loan at the moment to very good friends who absolutly adore them.
The two i have at home are a 25 yr old tb x welsh who is incredibly good for his age,( thinks hes a 2 yrs old, bless) ive had him since he was a yearling, i used to competed on him years ago, maily show jumping and the odd ODE hes a very good honest little horse who will do his best to please, he's done very well for me.
Then theres my baby, hes 4 years old now, hes half lusitano, he was backed in April. Ive owned him since he was 4 months old (and no he wasnt weaned at 4 months he was with his mum till at least 6 months, just in case you think im a wicked person, LOL) im planning on doing abit of dressage with him and generally having a bit of fun with him, he has the most fantastic temprement and is a pleasure to own.
Ive been out of riding for a few years due to too may horses to look after and not enough hours in the day, i must admit im a little stiffer than i used to be :-Z and my dressage skills are not that brilliant, but im goig to give it a go, for now LOL
Thats about it realy, sorry if ive gone on a bit :-)

Welcome Deb. I think you'll find most of us are up there in years. If you search on the Internet I think you'll find some Pilates for horse owners. Also, Klaus Hempfling's book has a whole section on stretching (and yoda) before riding. I personally like The Core, by Peggy Brill who is a Physical Therapist. She has a 15 minute stretch workout that stretches the whole core and gets you ready to move in the morning.
Your horses sound lovely. You KNOW we want pictures!!! I love Lusitanos but they are way too expensive in our area. There is a nice thread on dressage in "Biomechanics and Purity of Gait" you might read where several clinicians and ideas are discussed.
Enjoy and stay awhile.
