Hi all!

Hi all!

I'm Christiane, from Boyertown, PA.  I'm traumengel in SC also.  Haven't quit that yet....   Glad to find a place where I can question things.  I'm not one to enjoy a cult mentality.  I joined SC in 06 after seeing the Parellis in Harrisburg.  I only went because my friend had one of the demo horses.  I was very impressed, and that takes a lot!   I was raised with QHs.  Did the breeding, starting, showing thing.  Didn't think I needed NH.  Boy, have I changed because of PNH!!

But lately of course, the Parellis have left me wondering.  Putting out new, expensive "products" every year....  Under the "never-ending self improvement" concept.  I totally agree with that, but as one member wrote, if you just go OUT THERE and play with your horse, you'll get somewhere. Even without NH, a horse that's in a routine will do better than one that's ignored.

Then the Catwalk thing.  In my limited observation, that horse WAS extremely dominant, and perhaps what he did was warranted.  What I DON'T appreciate, is the lame, corporate written explanation.  Pat loves to go on about SC and support etc.  How about a detailed explanation?
Choosing to not explain to the audience also was really dumb.  But SC?
At the very least, he owes HIS SC.  Someone wrote that he said something at the Gold Summit.  So the regular SC members are worth nothing then???   The arrogance of it all STILL flames me.  OK, off my soapbox now.

My husband and I have 5 horses.  He has a home bred Oldenburg mare, and I have the other 4(2 OTT TBs, a solid paint, and a QH/paint/percheron).   I've been busy the last 5yrs trying to get pregnant, so PNH has always been sporadic for me(infertility sucks the life out of you).  Now that we finally ARE pregnant (due Feb.19th), the horses will be taking a back seat.  We plan to downsize, though that will be hard.

Nice to find an open-minded place to browse and learn!!  Sorry for the book.  These things have been weighing on me

Welcome! And congratulations on your pregnancy! February will come before you know it.  Of course, February is the best month to have a baby, it's my birthday month, plus you can be back riding by Spring!

You are where most of us are at in Parelli.  You are not alone!

Welcome C.  I sooooo empathize with the whole fertility nightmare...... went through it back in the dark ages 1972 and it took 5 years, meds and surgery to conceive.  Sucked the life out of me too.  Congrats on the impending birth hopefully, like me, the next conceptions are easier.

Glad to have ya.  We are a strange and wonderful bunch here, enjoy!

Welcome to the forum.  I think most here have similar stories to yours.   I do consider this part of progressing your journey.  As with any school, we learn all they can teach us and move on.   This is a great place to explore different directions to move towards.   Lots of fun people doing wonderful things.

And then there's Mike:

Congratulations on the baby!  I think my daugher is the best thing I ever did!  She just moved back home to go to K State at 21, almost 22 years old.  I'm loving it!  If I could give you one bit of advice, take a little time for yourself every day.  I was lucky and had grandma living close by.  It was wonderful just to have a couple of hours a day to take a bath, OR SLEEP!  Later, I had Amanda go to day care for a couple of hours a day.  She got to play with kids her own age, and I got a little time to ski.  If you can take a little time for yourself, you come back recharged, and a better mom.  It's so easy to lose yourself.
Hope you enjoy your adventures here on the forum!  Great horsemanship to be found here.  I think it's where I learned the most about horses, and of course made some amazing friends.  Love your horse!  Is he ALWAYS that clean????
