Hey!  I thought I recognized you!  Welcome - I think you're going to like it here.

I think if you search (Search button at top) you will find many threads with pictures and video links on Karen Rohlf.   Lots of recommendations for her videos and clinics.   Lots of people jealous they don't live near one of her clinics.

Not so much with Stacy though.  I think most see Stacy as riding BB and BL as something we all get to via Parelli if we stick with it.

I think you'll find most people here started with Parelli and are continuing that journey, while looking beyond at other methods to improve their horse and horsemanship.   Lots of great discussions.   It's a good learning environment.

Welcome! Please remember that quite a few of us here were bitter at Parelli for various reasons, and hope that you can read past threads as the  purging it is. Most of us are beyond that now, but old threads may seem harsh if you are still a Parelli devotee, and thats okay. We are just on a different journey now.

Welcome ! You will like it here where you can have your own opinion and not be attacked. Where healthy debates take place every day and where Parelli is still practiced for some mixed with other forms and methods. Some choose not to do anything Parelli teaches and you will hear about that too. Keep an open mind and make yourself comfortable.
Sorry for your loss.

Welcome soloscat1!  I hope you like it here too.  Like we say, it's not for everyone.  So sorry you lost your horse.  Glad you're still in horses though!

I think it's interesting no one would give you our link.  Or was it that no one is left back there that could!

I do have Stacy Westfall's tapes but only watched the bb bl one so far.  She states that the horses she does bb bl with have done the reining patterns litterly 1000's of times before she ever takes off the bridle.

I worked for a reining horse trainer ages ago that was bud's with the "Big Guys", and there weren't very many patterns they did.  He pretty much drilled the movements and patterns into the horse and they did nothing else outside the ring.

My impression is, that if she gets her horse out in unfamiliar areas (as in outside and off the pattern) they might not go off of her cues bridleless as well and get "lost".  But I've not seen her in person, so I don't really know for sure.

My impression of her horses from the videos are that they look robotic and withdrawn.  But I could be all wrong....  She seems like a very nice person and a knowledegable trainer, but I'd like to visit with her horses first and see what goes on "behind the scenes", just like with all other trainers.  Not that she's mean or anything, just would like to see what her training program consists of in it's entirety. Can they do anything besides the pattern?

thanks guys....for now i'm still a member of SC... but i'm not sure for how long.... i'm addicted to the mags and monthly dvds....even if it is a rehash...hahaha you guys are so friendly ong here holy crow... i love it... i read a few posts when i finally got the link and was like i duno if i'm gonna like this....seems to be bashing parelli, but upon further read i realized you had a reason to be upset.....and i completely understand....and i know some of from SC so i don't feel too outsiderish lol

There is no rule that says you have to quit the Savvy Club to be here.   We have lots of members who are still in the SC, doing their auditions and levels and getting lots of support from everyone else, including those who left.

It was a pretty common frustration that drove most of us to leave the SC and come here.

I hope that 'here' is a place safe for everyone on their journey.   There is an open door on "learning" here.

Welcome this is a lovely place to hang out.  It is ok that you are still a SC member so am I.  I hardly ever go over there anymore.  Glad to have you here.
