Hi from sunny Lancashire uk

Thanks to julie for introducing me to this forum ,I have been inspired already ,it looks great. I turned to more natural methods of horsemanship as I had two horses with issues, one a very LBE/LBI Welsh section D whom I had had since a yearling and at age 4 he broke my arm with his display of dominance to the other horses ( I was in the wrong place at the wrong time!) ) I have unfortunatly sold him as I felt at the time I did not have the skill to manage him and he has gone to a wonderful natural horseman.
I have a very LBI Highland who wont go! However we are working at it!!  I have had a level 1 start instructor called Claire  come and show me what a real phase 4 is like!! Again  of all the DVD's and video footage I had  never seen  a real phase 4!!
Now I have more arrows ,he knows I will go there if needed. We have gone from blowing raspberrys to a very willing phase 1 on the yo yo game!  I am working on my ground skills with the hope that it will convey to my on board skills! I felt after years of listening to other people and watching other people do different things with their horses there must be a better way .So a big hello from Lancashire England

Welcome to our forum!!!  Someone else will have to help you with your LBI, there is thread on them somewhere.

What is a Welsh Section D???  I've never heard of them before.   Do you have pictures?

Hello and Welcome.  We are glad to have you here.  I have a LBI also, so I know what you are going through.  You are right the phase 4 really changes things.  What my instructor had me do at a clinic last fall was Phase 1, one second, two seconds, BAM Phase 4.  This really woke him up and got him responding.  Riding on the other hand, he wants to go, go, go, so we are working on slowing down under saddle.

We welcome you!!!!!!
