homoepathy

hi - anyone else on here interested in homoeopathy?
whudson

I am !!! Been interested and studying it for a number of years.
Julie

yahoo! need some discussion as also training!

I have been looking at this -

Do you think that the horsenalities, though needing more detail, would cross reference to the different homeopathic personality. Is it possible do you think to rep the horsenalities and come up with likely remedies each.

Most of our ponies are one breed and are definate LBI with different degrees, but many are very similar, to the point that when we had a camp it was weird that all of these ponies who had never met would do everything at the same time, as well as looking alike. The various calcs seem to support most of these ponies, and i have had success with more general emotional / immunity problems just using mainly the calcs.

Has anyone else had noticed this and looked at it. i can find no evidence of research here but if human personalities have a common appearance, traits, preferences etc, is this true of horses, and if so logically this would be broadly linked to the horsenalities!

do you agree!

Ok...I'm confused, thought you meant homeopathy as in naturopathic medicine as opposed to traditional medicine
Julie

Yes!? Of course
cheerios

I know more about human homeopathy than horse homeopathy.

However, here's a nicely written article on why we cannot discount the placebo effect when considering veterinary homeopathy. (One of the main reasons often given by alternative medicine proponents who claim that veterinary homeopathy works.)

Or, as stated in the wikipedia article on homeopathy:
Quote:

Claims of homeopathy's efficacy beyond the placebo effect are unsupported by the collective weight of scientific and clinical evidence. While some studies have positive results, systematic reviews of all the published trials fail to conclusively demonstrate efficacy. Furthermore, higher quality trials tend to report less positive results, and most positive studies have not been replicated or show methodological problems that prevent them from being considered unambiguous evidence of homeopathy's efficacy

I'm fairly skeptical of most treatments that directly oppose what we know of chemistry, physics and basic medical principles, especially when they cannot be backed up by basic research and basic medical trials.
Julie

I am not up for discussions on whether or not there is a scientific base, this is covered elsewhere as you have pointed out.

I just wondered if anyone was knowledgeable enough to discuss something potentially useful!
whudson

I have read more about human homeopathy as opposed to animal as well.  I'm all for it but just don't have the background knowledge and I board my horse so there is little opportunity to do my own thing. Have to go by the barn rules...ya know

So I'm not sure how or if homeopathy can relate to horsenality.  But, you could be on to something.
