Human Acupuncture/Chiropractic Question

I got in to a bit of a wreck this afternoon involving three mares in heat, one gate, a rake, and a wheelbarrow.  I'll spare you the details.  The only injury I sustained was I got popped in the mouth right around GV26 & GV27.  Since then the outside of my left arm from the neck down to my ring finger has been tingling and I have lost a great deal of control of that hand.  Did I do something to my neck when my head popped back?
PasoBaby_CarolU

Yes.

I have a pinch of C 5/6 and get those tingles/pains whenever I hold my head wrong.

I have to keep shaking my arm to get it to "stay awake".  My hand is ice cold too.

Incredibly annoying.
PasoBaby_CarolU

the problem isn't your arm, it's your neck.  Ice, then warm, then neck stretches.  If that doesn't work, get thee to the DOCTOR.

Oh, joy.

I don't do No. 1 back flexion...if I did, I'd be in the hospital.  I do No.s 2 and 3 after 10 minutes of heat.  You start out with just what you can do with your head weight, and later you can use your hand to apply additional tension.

Can I come up and get some red light?  I'm afraid to move now.

Welcome to my world.

I spend about 2 hours a day staying mobile.  When I'm religious about it, I stay out of pain.  If I'm not, I'm in pain.

PS - if you get a headache over the top of your head, it is the muscles compensating for the neck, whiplash, and not a migraine (regardless of how bad it hurts).  A head massage helps.

Uh, oh.  I am going to a Rolfer later in the week.  Hopefully that will undo whatever those snotty mares did to me.  Maybe I need to go sooner.

Say, I suppose this is why my left ear is really hot and looks pretty red too.

Rosie jerked her head sideways at a leaf blower while we were at a clinic in Colorado in April.  Hit me in the right eye and split the eyebrow.  Almost knocked me out and I saw 'stars.'   Within 30 minutes I was seeing double, a condition that I still have.   That night the headache started and the only thing that saved me was having medication with me already.

My neck froze up and I was back in physical therapy immediately when I returned home.  I went to the Moran eye center and had sustained an orbital fracture that affected the 6th optical nerve.  I was sent to a double vision specialist, and give 6 months to heal on my own.  I did, to a point.  I need more correction then I did before the injury.

At any rate, since an injury (I'm not sure which one) years ago, any time my head is bashed I get whiplash.  I get whiplash from holding my head at an unnatural angle for any period of time.   Sitting in the bleachers at the Savvy Conference cost me 8 weeks of PT.

What you are describing is a pinched nerve in the neck.  It will get worse before it gets better.

That is interesting because I had a skull injury a long time ago and ever since then even the slightest tap to my head and I get a terrible head ache.  Even a pillow fight can take me out.

Uh oh.  Is the helmet "thing" going to start now?
bit

I just had radio frequency ablation on the nerve right around c4, and in my left shoulder.  Kills the nerve, and hopefullly it grows back not so pissed off.  So far, it was a waste of money.  Yep, whiplash.  Snowboarder took me out, sent me flying a good 60 feet, and ended my career.  I get about 2 hours a day.  I hope you BOTH feel better.  Neck and back injuries suck.

I just got popped in the mouth really.  I must have snapped my head back.  I don't even have a fat lip although one of my teeth feels kind of rough.

Ugh!
PasoBaby_CarolU

How are you feeling this morning Taci?
