Jaundice in Horses...Sad day for me today. My friend picked up my fav horse. She called and said, check your email wait 10 mins and call me back.
This is what I saw..
My question is:
this horse is Jaundice. We know he hasnt been fed. My friend is going to get him to the vet to get blood work. Whats his chances?

How is this fella doing ? Don't know anything about jaundice in horses but I would love to know if he is any better and what his story is.

He is doing better.. Getting unlimited hay and good feed. His strange Yellow color has gone. Here are a few updated pictures of him taken yesterday. He has had NO baths since he had gone back into my friends care. So basically it was him being starved.

How wonderful ! He looked so sad and withdrawn in the 1st pics, his face haunted me. I am so happy to hear he is gaining weight. I'll never understand how someone can starve them. It's so cruel and inhumane. Thanks fo the update, what's his name ?

His name is Cadence. He is a 13 yr old draft cross. He has been in my life for 11yrs now. I love him to pieces! He was SEVERALY abused when he was just 3 yrs old. Spurred horribly, scars to prove it, beat daily and half way starved. He had come such a long way and boom right back into a horrible persons hands.. I am VERY happy I am NOT in Florida.. I would hunt the person who did that to him and beat her senseless.. Which wont take long being she is already half way there..

Poor boy hasn't had any luck ! I am glad your friend has him now, will she keep him ? I sure hope so. He is beautiful and deserves a loving home. Well, they all do. Keep us posted on his progress.
