Jaundice in Horses

Sad day for me today. My friend picked up my fav horse. She called and said, check your email wait 10 mins and call me back.
This is what I saw..

My question is:
this horse is Jaundice. We know he hasnt been fed. My friend is going to get him to the vet to get blood work. Whats his chances?

I am VERY beside myself.. I have been crying off and on all morning.. What a way to start the day.. I have been in this horses life since I was 16 and he was 2 1/2. I am now 29...

So sorry to hear about this horse you love so much not doing so well.

I am a little slow so can you explain to me from the beginning his history, when you rehomed him and how your friend went to go get him again?

I don't know much about jaundice in horses, but I do know that in people it can be recovered from depending on the cause and the extent of damage.  The horse still has decent muscling for all his ribs are showing, and its amazing what they can recover from with time and TLC.

*jingles* to you, your friend, and your horse, hope he's feeling better soon.  Let us know the updates!
