You are the pioneer, you've read some and you're ready to post! LOL Ok Maybe not. But, at least give us a page number or paragraph of something that resonated with you or inspired you or whatever. (I'd go first but I'm waiting for my replacement copy to arrive...I loaned my first one out and never got it back.)

Started the book and I believe you are right, Erin. This along with my Tolle books will be the most significant reads of my life, to this point. Can't post my thoughts yet because they are a little overwhelming. This is just cementing some feelings I have always had going WAY back to when I was a kid headed off to Sunday School and deciding to not go and spend the time in the park instead. My parents never knew and I never told. I just knew that the answers weren't in that church.......... it was bigger than that but I couldn't explain it so I kept it secret.
I've spent my whole life feeling that IT is bigger than traditional religion can explain to me. Have stayed away from organized religion and kinda developed my own belief system. I think all of us on this thread have done the same

Thanks for sharing that. I want as many people as are ready to discover this information because it is really eye opening. I just got my replacement copy and will be reading it along with you guys.

Ok, my copy came 1 1/2 hours ago and I'm on chapter 2.
Having done a couple of past life regressions myself, I personally relate to this statement on page 4:
"Once in hypnosis, people report the pictures they see and dialogue they hear in their unconscious minds as literal obervations".
SO true! When I had just "gone under" and my regressor made an opened request... "Go back to a place that was siginificant to you"... and BOOM! I shot right back to a cabin in the woods, I was standing there, in my long braids, looking down at my shoes and looking up to see my mother crying at the fireplace. The entire regression was as if I was there on the spot, and I can totally recall the whole of both episodes to this day.
This book is cool! And to think he first published in 1994 after 10 years of study..... We are so slow catching up!

I wouldn't have the first clue how to go about finding a regressor; I think I'd prefer to get a certified LBL therapist. But, I don't really feel like at this point in my life I am 'stuck' or have an issue I need to work on where I am blocked, particularly. However, possibly if I were to have a session, I might discover otherwise LOL
I did out of curiosity do Brian Weiss's audio self regression and a couple of incidents popped up (one revealing why I'm partial to dapple greys and beach rides LOL)

Our area of Colorado is know being the center for lots of "woo wooo" type people, so it's not hard to find someone to help you in any of the new-age fields one wishes to check out. lol I did the past life regressions just for fun, but did find out why I can't stand the "roaring crowds" of football games and such... it sounds just like the roar of a raging river where I had had a terrorizing experience.

| Quote: | | This book is an intimate journal about the spirit world. It provides a series of actual case histories which reveal in explicit detail what happens to us when life on Earth is over. You will be taken beyond the spiritual tunnel and enter the spirit world itself to learn what transpires for souls before they finally return to Earth in another life. |
I've been listening to a lot of Abraham CDs and this lines up with what they teach as well... you're source energy, the larger part of you that is you that is not in physical form, it is where Abraham comes from.

Yes Carol, I have been making those connections too. Taoism refers to source energy and the journey home as well.......
I am currently reading the section on guides so about half way through. Went out to dinner last night and spent the whole time telling hubby about it. I think he'll give it a go when I finish.
Erin, have you read the sequel Destiny of Souls?
Wanda, not in a bad way for me either

Yes I've read it too. I also have on order his most recent book with more case studies. While being sure not to 'get stuck' on this subject, it sure is interesting!
Brian Weiss also has good books on the same subject. Messages from the Masters is a good place to start.

I'm having a really weird experience. Yesterday I got Journey of Souls. Last night I start reading the book and it looks real familiar. Then I realize I've read the story about Sarah. Reading the book last night, I could picture myself having read it already. I can picture myself sitting in the chair having read that case. But I cannot remember having done so, I've searched through my books and cannot find a copy of Journey of Souls. I do not remember hearing about the book until just recent on the LOA thread. Feel like I'm going crazy here.

Oooohhhhh Merle, I've had that same experience with other books and have about driven myself crazy with the search
This book was mentioned several months ago on some thread and I didn't order it........ not ready at that time? This go around I did order it and it has clarified my reason for this particular life (if indeed we do reincarnate) I think it will speed up or motivate me to do the last of my work, I'm in the finese stage now Just nice to see the whole picture and that's what this book has lead me to.

pg. 127 another way to look at some people who seem to be struggling on soooooo many levels. I am constantly saying to my kids 'we are all on the same road, some of us are just further along' I have always said this with physical age in mind........now I'm thinking what I really must mean is soul age; it explains so much more.

It's interesting how when you need some thing it keeps returning to your radar until you are ready for it. When the student is ready the teacher will appear. I think the teacher is always there, but the student needs to get ready to be able to 'see' the teacher.
I figured out why I knew the Sarah story. Over the winter I was reading a book, at the end of the book was a teaser blurb for Journey of Souls. In the teaser blurb was the Sarah story. Wow, how neat - universe offered it to me or maybe prepared me for it over the winter. Then it comes up in LOA. Now I have the book am enjoying it and looking forward to seeing what I am to learn from the book.

I just got done with another of his books, more case studies, book is called Memories of the Afterlife. It's good too but JOS is excellent!
So many of the revelations are so personal. I've begun to journal about the ones I most relate to or at least mark the pages of the issues that I feel I am also struggling with. I want to share them but at the same time they are so personal and I'd feel weird posting them on the internet.
The books almost give you tips and clarity on what you're working on and what can you do to 'help yourself along' and focus yourself in the right areas! So neat!

Giving me an insight to some issues I still have to resolve. It is also letting me slow down and focus more......heck, I still have some more incarnations I'm sure, so what's the hurry?
I have always thought that you repeat this life experience until you "get it right". Now I have some interesting support.

Nancy, I'm not sure we repeat this life until we get it right, but we sure offer ourselves up plenty of opportunities until we learn the lesson we have set up for ourselves. It's not until that lesson has been learnt that we then move onto another! This can take 10 lifetimes, it can take 10 mins. That's the beauty of the universe, time is non existent and we can sincerely go at our own pace.
You may not be able to learn some lessons on earth, so perhaps a different plane is where the lesson comes from. I believe we roam wherever we need to to progress in our growth.
I read this book a few years ago and loved it all. What a wonderful man to put into print for us all to enjoy and learn from!
Happy Days!
Karen.

Ok, so my animals don't communicate with me but, on my walk last night, I think my spirit guide did I asked "him" and the first word that popped into my head was Tecumsah and I am with you because I am a warrior.
I am not an historian or a social studies fan so I had to look him up. I had a vague memory of him from grade school or somewhere but seriously, no knowledge.
I am now wondering if "he" spoke to me because he knows that I am sad and frustrated that my beloved horses don't talk to me.....I have felt, for a few months now, that my journey is shifting and the focus is going in a different direction.

Interesting Nancy. I keep wanting/asking to hear from spirit guides as well, certainly since I started reading this book and I think sometimes that I am hearing things but then sometimes I wonder am I just making this up...is there anyway to tell the difference?
I wonder that too about talking with animals...or rather them talking with me...I imagine kind of a conversation but is it them or is it just me wanting to hear stuff? Know what I mean? How do you really communicate and know it is from the source that you are wishing to communicate with?

You and I are soooo much alike, almost scary I don't know why I so clearly "saw-heard-manufactured" that name, at that time, in that place.
I doubt so much and am a super realist. I expect to hear words or see clear pictures. I'm kinda a novice when it comes to all metaphysical so maybe things will change as I read and learn more
We need to be less analytical and just practice going with the stream......deal Wanda?

Back in the day, I used to argue with my angels a bit. Long story, but their reply was, "It doesn't matter how we reach them, as long as we reach them." It doesn't matter if what you are hearing is your guide, your angel, or you own inner self. You can get real caught up in who, and you miss the message. Call it what you will, it all comes from the same place, source energy. Doesn't matter.
When I was 11, I contimplated suicide. That was at a time that I still believed my parents words, and my mother told me that at 12 we were accountable for our sins. My reasoning was, if I get it done before I turn 12, God wouldn't be pissed. I survived my childhood. My mother volunteered me to babysit her friends kids, and had also shared her Miltown (a heavy seditive) with that same friend. That night I went to the medicine cabinet and reached for the the Miltown. Something moved my hand over to the aspiren and said, "this will do". I picked up the aspiren, swolled about 20 of them, and spend the rest of the night scared to death, pardon the pun, with my ears ringing so loud I could barely hear.
I thought about that a lot, and about who or what had changed my mind. I often wondered if it was an older me that went back in time to help the younger me. Time isn't linear, it's more of a loop. Going back isn't that hard. So was it me? Who knows, doesn't matter. Had a few things happen like that, and they are still happening. Where does it come from?
I give the message more energy than the "who dunnit".
My spiritual teacher was talking about the lessons we are being taught here, and how we get the same lessons over and over, but on a different level each time. She said it looks a little like the helix you see in a strand of dna. You learn the lesson, spiral on up, you learn it again but this time you have grown and see the lesson from a different perspective. Hopefully, a better one, or more enlightened. Or, you the lesson comes a bit harder, smacks you upside the head like a 2 x 4 because you didn't get it the first time.
My thought is, we are here in this time, we are there in another, and it's all happening together. I have a feeling this rabbit hole is multidemintional, with a lot of stuff we can't even imagine. Nancy, maybe you WERE this guy, or are this guy in another time. Ask. Ya'll be careful what or who you let in. Do a protection thang.

That's just about the sweetest compliment. He'd be honored.
I have often wondered about spirit guides. I have a large female Great Pyranese dog, a HUGE bay mare, a big gray dappled andalusian with smoky dark points & the gray horse is always together with this HUGE color prism.
When I was a kid there was a very bad man that haunted me (hard to describe. Bad person, bad medicine, bad spirit). I don't know what to call him but he made my blood run cold back then & drove me nuts. A lot of people don't believe in evil spirits or whatever but I do because I dealt with that one. He was bad news & I had a lot of work to figure out how to make him leave me be.
I firmly do believe in God but I don't put much store in organized religion because so many of them lose the point.

Deb, so glad that you are here to help send us on our ways.......I just was very late to the party and now I have to play catch up.
I would also like to say that I have never met a finer bunch of human spirits anywhere, in my travels, than right here on this spirit thread.
Let's face it, it's not just anywhere that I'd feel comfortable to let some of this stuff fly.

Wow...Just finnished the book. There were some spots where I got a little "stuck" as I think I had q's. I am glad that I kept going because all my q's got answered in the end.
Except of course the "animal" thing. I know they have souls and they do guide us and help us grow...just don't know where their souls come from. Anybody have an answer to that?
This book was about the best I have read and I find it really resonates with me. Feels right..ya know? Gonna read it again in case I missed something

glad you like it.
I think animals come from the same place as we do.....source/God.....just they were 'made' differently. They are, I think, another expression of god and perfect in their own way. I think the human spirit is designed to glean a bit if a different experience. Animals just are, and they are perfect. Humans I think are meant to be a very high evolution/way of God's effort to REALLY deeply evolve/express/experience to a very much extent. That is REALLY bad grammar but I didn't want to say 'high' because it's not 'like that.' Its just a DEGREE, I think. That's kind of what I got from the book.

by the way....yes it is REALLY cool that we of similar minds can come here and discuss this stuff. How hard is it to express yourself to a world of people (at the risk of really rubbing them the wrong way) and then not even being able to find those that think similarly. This is a really good group.

While I'm only on page 25.......someting is off about the technique I guess...These people are in a state of hypnosis and can't hypnotists plant suggestions?

Did you read the introductions and forewords and such? I seem to recall somewhere where the author explains about the hypnotic process and why it is reliable in this application. perhaps it is in the book 'life between lives' which is a book written geared towards practicing hypnotists on how to actually conduct a LBL session with a client. In any case, your answers are out there. Just keep looking if you want the answer and it will present itself to you (because I seem to recall asking the same question and it got answered and I just don't recall what the answer was, only that it made sense at the time. The way I work, I simply don't place importance on remembering the specifics of it, only recording my impression at the time I got the answer and made the decision whether I agreed or not.)
adding to this: actually part of the reason I have a bit of faith in this process is because the guy stumbled onto it accidentally. it wasnt something he had a vested interested in leading the original client to. It sort of just happened. Actually the client led him to it! He just helped her attain a brain state where she could access the information from her subconscious/superconscious.
That, and so many cases reflect such similar patterns, from people of all walks of life, all religions, all races, all different experiences...yet they are telling the practitioners (plural) very similar things. That's why it makes sense to me.

The sequel, Destiny of Souls, talks about animals. Animals have a soul but their souls reside elsewhere. Human souls can reconnect with animal souls of their pets. It also talks about domestic animals and wild animals, the souls that choose domestic animals are more connected to humans. Those that choose wild animals are not interested in being around humans. It goes into more detail then what I summarized here.
