They put out a lot of good common sense videos, that Bay mob.

I was reading down the youtube page where the argument was going on about the french terminologies being what was incorrect in the first video & how it wasn't corrected in the second.

Yes that does need to be fixed but the basic instruction of the video still remains acurate.

I liked that he made reference to rollkur, draw reins etc being wrong & undesireable training methods.

Several of the links I have posted over the last few years have been to trainers who use those head down & stretching techniques.

However I feel the most important training tool of all is soft footing for the horse so it can learn to use it's soft tissues to absorb the movement of it's gait & that of the human rising to the trot aboard the horse's back. My experience is that on hard surfaces the horse will just tolerate the shock of the movement & let it go up through the joints & shoulders. On soft surfaces it gets a split second during which time the foot sinks into the footing which seems to teach the horse to float somewhat.

I sure wish I had my horse in my backyard and money for lessons

There are some really good Mary Wanless (Ride with your Mind) on You Tube that goes into greater depth of "how to" - most are from her clinics.

This is EXACTLY what I worked on in my last lesson!  I am definitely sharing this with my trainer.  Thanks for posting! :D
