Marijke de Jong: free e-book

The message below is about an e-book that M de Jong is offering.  You need to sign up to receive it.  I've done so and it is very good.  PDF document.  Nice and simply explained.  Translated from Dutch.  Good illustrations.  It worked for me by going through her Facebook page.

Hertha you beat me to it! Obviously bad weather or all chores done early at your place?

This is a very good booklet for everybody. It shows why so many horses have physical issues & starts you down the track of what to do about them. It has all been available before but is now all in one booklet rather than several steps. I wish I had the money to do her full course (oh & a horse to do it with! Lol)

Anyway Sonny had better watch himself when his feet are better because this is what we’ll be continuing with for the rest of the year.

Was finished by 9:45am.  Gotta get out there early on hot days.  Even starting at 7am, I was drenched in sweat after a long-reining session with Boots in a huge paddock full of big round bales of hay.  We used them for markers to change directions and do patterns - great fun.  Sadly, they all got picked up this afternoon

I think I also have the advantage of being closer to the International Date Line than you

Certainly lots to get on with in that booklet.  Boots is pretty good, but definitely less limber on one side.  I'm using click/treat for direction changes on the circle from left to right so putting more effort in becomes worth her while.  Trying to do a little bit often.

I got it too!  i think it is a very informative, detailed, well explained and demonstrated as to what asymetry is and how to correct it.  I would recomend it to everyone.  she also has a video you can watch but only it will only be available for public viewing until sun night (1-8-12)

Interesting how she has made a big commercial program out of the basic NH info of:

"Teach everything from both sides of the horse and do at least twice as much on the stiffer side"

The essential prerequisite, of course, is that the person gets ambidextrous and smooth on their stiff side.

agreed Hertha, but want to say that unfortunately 'symetry' is an often forgotten or ignored concept in too many programs
