My AC experience

I'm not exactly sure how to format this but I guess I'll just start.

the AC said:

sometimes you bring your kids and she sees them in the car.

the truth: accurate. sometimes the kids get out but sometimes I just bring the horse to the car so the kids can say hi.

She said she'd primarily like to be a trail horse (BINGO) but doesn't like to go out alone (Sasha does object when I try to take her out on the road, just her and I.)

AC said sometimes her feet feel congested. could be because she doesn't like to drink the water at night when its really cold so she doesn't drink as much as she should.

Sasha said when I first got her, her teeth and her feet were in not so good shape but I've been doing regular maintenance and now its fine. specifically mentioned by the AC was that originally her heels were too high in the hinds and too low/underslung in the front. this is accurate.

I asked if she was happy and the ac said that she likes where she is at and the current group of horses. Before there was one that she didn't like but that is resolved now. This is accurate (there was a gelding that used to terrorize her but he and his owners other horse got moved.)

She said she likes being together, just spending quality time...that she wants to be with me forever, she feel like we are connected and is willing to do whatever I need her to do. likes her hackamore but will wear whatever I need to be secure, although she prefers the lighter of my two saddles mostly because MY center of gravity is better on her in it. (I agree with this statement.)

She likes her name and is glad that I changed it to a more feminine name. (no way could the ac 'know' this. Sasha's name used to be Sox. yuck.)

she has good kidneys (uh...okay.)

she has an area right in front of her croup that she would like to have worked on/stretched. (I've always sensed that this is a trouble area for her but with no way of really verifying it....I haven't acted to hire anyone to do bodywork on her mostly because of financial reasons.)

She liked the ranch sorting better than the team penning.
I mentioned I wasnt sure if she liked it because she was not quite as quick and responsive as I'd have liked. THe AC said Sasha likes to think of herself as thoughtful, not reactive. (I'll agree with that ninety percent of the time lol)

the AC said she is not like a typical arabian. This is also what the barn manager says about Sasha, she calls her a 'golden retriever.'

She wants me to acknowledge her birthday (???) Her favorite colors are purple, or red. (purple is for royalty) I do have a studded purple halter, maybe she likes that one?? It's very pretty.

She doesnt like to spend a long time in a trailer and wants time to get used to being loaded beforehand (that's kind of a given but it's consistent with her personality. Some horses simply have NO problems with trailers...Sasha isn't one of them.)

She wants me to blow up a big picture (Sasha, mind you) of her and I and display it near the entrance of our home so everyone can see who she is to me and how important she is.

I wouldn't have thought that but it doesn't surprise me. She has kind of a high opinion of herself, as low key as she is.

Very interesting.

Erin,
That is really incredible that she could tap into Sasha like that. I plan to get a reading soon as well and will report back on the results. This is great that we get to share the expereince with each other. Now start planning that birthday party !

P.S. Did the A/C come to your place or was it done over the phone ?
whudson

That's pretty cool Erin, did she do this from a distance or did she meet her to do it?

Did you hear anything that came as a surprise to you or was it what you expected?
appellativo

it was over the phone. she asked the horse's location, age, sex, color, breed.

Marty, a 'very interesting.' from you, does that imply that you have something to say on the matter but are cautious if I want to hear it?

I was surprised to hear the birthday party and picture part. I was surprised to hear about the congestion in her feet but if it has to do with her not drinking enough water, that makes sense, because she is very picky about her water. (long story.)

So there was nothing that was mentioned that I disagreed with but some things brought up that I didn't know.
Mandy'sMarty

Erin--My perspective on human communication: When a man says "very interesting", he usually means exactly that. When a woman says "very interesting", I'm not so sure what she really means.

I said what I said because I thought your post and the reading was truly very interesting.
I was impressed.
appellativo

:D your assessment of 'very interesting' is accurate. All this time I thought you were 'Marty' the female but I take it you are Marty the Male!? (?)

:D
4theloveofjake

When a man says interesting, that could ALSO mean anything.......

Marty said : I was impressed

OK, now I know that you liked it,

I thought you were a girl, too!  lol!  Ok, how  bout a vote?  Marty is now invited to be an official member of the mare's club?  Marty you are dang cute!  That's one lucky mare you have!  Crushin' on Ekart, Buck, and now Marty!  woo hoo!
Hank

Appellativo--I have been too busy to be on the forum for a while, so if you already posted this, sorry, but--what communicator did you use? PM me if it's not ok to say here. Thanks.
appellativo

I don't see why not to mention...but it's Lydia Hiby. you can google her name and her site should come up.

Drop dead gorgeous isn't everything.

of course not. and many times the inner beauty enhances the outer, anyways. or vice versa. Ever known someone really cute and then he/she opens his/her mouth??

Oh, YES!  Oh GAWD, YES!

I have also known some who didn't catch my eye at all at first, but became more attractive as I got to know them.

Sorry, looks like we hijacked the thread, which I agree is VERY interesting.  Read that as if I'm a guy.

Ok guys I had a wonderful experience today and  I would like to share...I am here tonight and not having such a wonderful experience...one day i would like to share, but not now...

Went to the barn  feeling pretty grounded despite everything.  Anyway, Ok, talking about animal communication....

So I have been trying to get through to my boy and I feel I have been ignored....till now.

Lots of things going on in my life right now but when I went to the barn...I felt grounded

So we did a little playing around...his choice...you want to leave, leave..etc

I decided to speak...and wondering if he heard me...needed proof, ya know how it is.

I thought and spoke to him with my mind...i am listening and I do hear you.  I would like you to back up without my physically asking.  He did nothing. I let it go

I carried on, did some stick to me, leading from behind and whatever came up.  Totally in the moment.

Then I was standing about 20 feet from his behind, I was relaxed, he was relaxed and next thing he started backing towards me.  I had done nothing I was just standing.  He must have backed 10 feet and I couldn't help but laugh so therefore the moment was over because if I laugh, Kitt knows the treat is coming.

Alright, after I got over that, I decided to ask him to lie down and then I would know that he heard me.  I told him that I would give him all that was in my pocket if he lay down.

This horse is not a horse that lies down.  Maybe when he is soaking wet...just does not feel interested in lying down while people are around.

Next thing we were hanging out, doing nothing and he was laid down and rolling

I emptied my pockets but not really He knew that I said I would empty the pockets and he would not let up untill the pocket was empty

What do you all think?
bit

drrrr.
appellativo

that's pretty cool! I read in one of the books that once they've proved it to you, they won't necessarily keep doing it if you ask over and over. it's like, they've already proved it to you so quit asking already lol. Just something to be aware of.

Makes sense, I guess that would be rather irritating to them I'll keep that in mind.

Thanks. I wondered if it was someone I knew, as it was a very "full" reading. So, yup, somebody I know. Thanks.

I felt a little silly going through all my Sasha pictures and finding a good one of she and I, blowing it up and framing it, but it's all done now....a tribute to Sasha in my house so everyone who visits will know how special she is.  :D

Did you remember the flowers?  I'm seeing alter, not just a picture.  lol!  Candles maybe, scented "horse cookies", of course.

no, she's not dead yet. when she's gone, there will be an altar
bit

hmmm, not a dead thing, a worship thing.  Ya know, big chair, cape, crown, flowers, adoring fans, rose petals, offerings (preferably food), lots of bowing and wishing you were her.  lol!  Are ya gonna post that picture of her so we can all pay homage?
appellativo

oh my goodness, yes, I would be remiss if I didn't! This is us at a Parelli playday a year and a half ago. You can tell she is worshipped and adored, can't you?

Sunny

Erin - That's a great picture of you two!   What a couple of cutiepies!!!  She is definately a happy camper and much adored. Sending my and adoration!

I LOVE the beads!  She is one beautiful horse!  Any full body shots?  You know, centerfolds?  She is gorgeous!  Well, no wonder.

Beads, horse, owner........quite a package!  I would also like a full body shot of her, she's very pretty!

praise and recognition...who doesn't love it?? Thanks for the kind words. Here's a couple pics of the queen. kind of old but I haven't been very camera happy lately!

I thought I'd post this here to revive Erin's great experience too.

My AC experience yesterday

I sent my check in the week before and anxiously waited for day that Lydia took calls to come (Tuesdays and Wednesdays).  I had written all of the questions I wanted to be sure to ask about my mare, Teddy, down on two pieces of paper and dialed her number.

She answered the phone and after some confusion she found my folder and we began.  I told Lydia I was concerned about my mare’s back.  She immediately said that her croup needed adjustment.  I asked if that’s why she didn’t like to canter either with me riding or on a lunge line.  Teddy said it was too uncomfortable to do so and it felt worse going to the left than the right, (which my husband noticed weeks ago).  I thought she hurt both ways.  (Because of this I’ve only ridden her lightly her a couple of times the last month – and we just trail ride when we do).

I asked if it was my riding, the saddle, or ?  She said that the saddle we used the last three rides felt good, and the “old” saddle was too long for her back.  Well, I had purchased a brand new saddle for her 4 years ago to do mounted shooting, but it hurt my back and I had recently sold it (it’s the one Teddy referred to as the “old” saddle).  The saddle we have been using now is one my ex-husband built 23 years ago, (my very favorite to ride in), and she likes the way it feels. Yea. (I have been switching between 3 saddles for the last two years).

I asked about the blanketing under the saddle and she said Teddy likes the Navajo blanket.  Now, I have tried countless different blankets and combinations trying to find what I felt she felt was the best and I had determined that the 1/2 felt with the Navajo on top was the best. Right on!  (Lydia says that the animal doesn’t “talk” as such but sends pictures and that was the picture Lydia saw).

Lydia also asked Teddy how her back got hurt. Did I ride her hard, or spin, or were we doing sliding stops?  Teddy responded with a big “No!  We don’t do that at all. I did it myself. I wanted to lay down and nap in the shade and got stuck in the shed. I got half-cast and hurt it getting up.”

So, I’m calling the chiropractor again, and getting her adjusted asap. (I tried to get one of them to come out last week to see Teddy, but when neither could make it I decided to make the call to Lydia to see what was wrong.)

I asked if it would then be ok to take her to the Buck Brannaman clinic in a couple of weeks.  Teddy shot back with “How long is the trailer ride going to be?”  I said it was about 5 hours.  Lydia said Teddy has a lot of anxiety about being in a trailer that long and did she have to go?  Did she do something wrong?

I said, “No, Teddy is a perfect horse. I’m going to get the training for me.”  She said that she’d go if she had to, because she didn’t want to disappoint me.  (For those that don’t know, Teddy is 14 years old. I took a mare I was training to a friend’s stallion, bred her once and 11 months later got my sweetie, a palomino paint – “MissTeddy”.  She has always been the best horse and always does whatever is asked of her - awesome mountain horse!).

I said “No, she didn’t have to go to the clinic, I could take my husband’s horse, “Sunny” instead.  Teddy thought that was a better idea, that she could stay home and recoup. And then we could come home and show her what we learned.  And that Sunny could feel "special" for a while. (We got Sunny a year ago for my husband out of a bad situation dude string - she was lowest on the totempole, was picked on and didn't have one-on-one care).  Lydia filled me in on a lot about Sunny too.

We talked for quite a while and Lydia answered every question I had.  There is so much more, I’ll have to write up later.  As Lydia say, it's not words that the animal sends, but pictures and thought blocks and that's what Lydia expalins to us.  But the two way conversations were lightening fast and accurate. She told me about Sunny, the other boarders, the other stables where I keep them periodically and horses there and so much more than I was prepared for.  It was awesome.

I just wanted to get this posted today so if anyone else has any kind of questions about their relationship with their animals, please do yourselves and your animal a favor and don’t wait.  Give Lydia or another ac a call and quit guessing!
bit

Purty cool!  How much did ya pay for her services, if it's ok to ask?
Sunny

It was $40 for "15 minutes".  You send a check to her address on her web site, and then the next Tues or Wed you just call the number on the site.  I tried getting through throughout the day and finally got her after 9PM.

I remarked that she had a very busy day.  She said yes, but did have two 1/2 hour breaks where no one called.

I didn't have a clock in front of me, but I bet we spoke for more than a half hour.  She was very gracious with her time.

I'll be contacting her again about the beautiful German Shephard dog that had been loose at the state park for over a month two years ago that no one could catch but jumped in the front seat of MY truck when I saw her running down the middle of the highway one day.  I want to know her story.  She is a wonderful dog and we can't imagine why she was in the predicament she was in.  She goes everywhere with us.

Call Lydia!
bit

Sounds like that dog did a little loa!  I might give this a go.  Have to watch money right now.  Can you share your story about your dog after to talk to her?  Ok, think I'll talk to her about Gunner.  Might as well get it from the horse's mouth.  I know what she means about block thoughts.  Angels do that, no pics, but no words either.  I'm thinking words tend to get in the way, a lot.  May be a human issue, lol!
Sunny

Definately go for it bit.  Send the check today! lol

We talked bits, shoes, barefoot, my trimming jobs, the easy boot gloves I use (Teddy said they were weird at frist, but now she likes them.  She prefers not wearning shoes), living arrangements, feed, nutrition, hackamores, stable mates, my riding, my horse care (Teddy says I'm a very good rider and caregiver and that she's very happy! ) and some insights on Sunny and Teddy's opinion of her!  Teddy said Sunny was very shy and quiet when she came, but Teddy is letting Sunny push her around a little now to help her feel better about herself!  Awwwww.
jackspark

Great post Carol.
HopeMissouri

Fascinating!  Thanks for posting.

I believe Lydia is the AC my friend Susanfxtrt uses, too.
appellativo

Thanks for sharing all that! I had a pencil handy so I could jot down quick notes so I wouldn't forget anything!
Sunny

I did too, but we talked so fast!

I asked an open ended question, "How does Teddy feel about being a mother?"  She shot back with, "Only if I HAVE to........ and then they're going to want to KEEP IT!!  It takes such a long time, and it's a lot of work, and then that thing is always going to be around!".

I laughed a big one at this!!!!   My husband and I have been getting ready to try and sell our house and move to where we can have the horses with us and breed the mares and keep the foals for family members.  I thought that the mares would like that!

I asked if Sunny wanted another foal (we were given a picture of Sunny in her show bridle and ribbons braided in her mane, with an identical carbon-copy foal at her side taken years ago), and she also said, "only if I have to."  I told Lydia that the whole deal was off then! lol No foals!

I hadn't told Lydia any of this, she didn't know if Teddy was bred already, had a foal already, was about to be bred, nothing.

And the "special" thing Teddy referred to. Again, I hadn't mentioned the word to Lydia, but I've always told Teddy how "special" she was.  I "created" her, and got what I had wished for, my own "Mr. Ed", (but I didn't care if was a mare or gelding) and wha-al- Teddy appeared, "Mrs. Ed".  I watched that show constantly and a kid and always wanted to have my horse "in my house" with me.  My husband and I still want to move.  And the horses WILL have access to us!  Just no babies.
Sunny

Here's the part my husband liked the best:

When we were discussing the clinic and saddles and what we did together Lydia blurted out, "Teddy says that she wishes you would get a better trailer with living quarters and JUST GO CAMPING!"

Again, no where had I brought this up to Lydia at all, (but we talk about this in front of Teddy all the time).

We got Sunny from the dude string for several reasons, but one was because my husband has been wanting to take horses camping and ride waaayyy back in the mountains and Sunny has a lot of experience there.  (I've been hesitant to go because I wanted to find out what Sunny's "problem" was, the reason she was sold, before we get to the mountains. We have already gotten a camper for the pickup, and Jim has remodified the hitch to accomodate our 3 horse slant, and we WERE scheduled to take them camping last week but got rained out).  Again, I hadn't told Lydia any of this yet.

Anyway........ my fears about taking those three camping are now gone.

For the record, Jim and I have been talking a lot about a new trailer with living quarters for some time.......so I know Teddy has seen the pictures in my mind!
appellativo

Those two things were consistent from what she told me too....no long trailer rides, and go camping more! LOL
Sunny

That's funny Erin!

When I asked her about how Sunny felt about standing in for Teddy at the clinic she said yes, that Sunny had no problem going, that she didn't mind the long trailer ride.  Sunny was the type of horse that doesn't care.  "Ya, I'll do that.  Ya I'll do that.  Ya, I'll do that!"

She also said that Teddy said that when Sunny first came she thought, "Sunny was kind of dumb.... no wait, just different.  She wouldn't talk at all. Very quiet.  She was different than other horses she's known."

Again, I hadn't told Lydia what kind of horse Sunny was or that we've never had a Foxtrotter before. I agree, they're different mentally. Lydia likened them to Golden Retrievers, that they're happy to do anything for you.  That's Sunny.

An ya, Erin.  I was wondering too if I was going to have to blow up a picture or have a birthday party, but no, she never mentioned it. lol  I bet a lot of horses don't like trailer rides.
jackspark

Yes FT are different!  They ARE like Golden Retrievers.  "Sure, I can do that"  is their favorite phrase.  My FT has never refused a request, and I've had him for 15 years.  Now that I know better I don't ask for anything that he can't deliver, unlike the beginning years   I sure would like to know if he has forgiven me for all the stupid years.........
Sunny

$40 and 15 minutes....... you'll have your answer. LOL (I'm sure the answer is "Yes" though).

Lydia says the horses don't live in or think about the past.  That's why Teddy couldn't "say" how long ago and which saddle bothered her, only that it was too long for her back (the other saddle was an inch bigger in the seat than the one she likes), "the last three rides were good".  And then I figured out that it had to have been the saddle I sold that was bothering her.
appellativo

this is really great to talk about how horses are similar and different lol
Yes_But_Neigh

I wonder if she does dogs too--

It's really interesting to hear about the being a mom thing from the horses- some broodmares are really good moms but maybe it's because they have to be. It's got to be very tiring year after year
appellativo

being a mom as a horse has GOT to be easier than being a mom as a human! LOL
