New from Europe

Hi everyone,

found my way to this forum, too!

I'm a 34-year-old from Austria and have a 6-year-old paint gelding who is an LBI - now slowly turning to LBE.  We play in about L2, I hope that I can assess L1 soon and perhaps L2, too.

We play in NH-principles for about 1,5 years now (with breaks).

My biggest problem was the disrespect of my horse for me. He's a bombproof, extremely curious, courageous and playful horse, who is not easily impressed by anything (be it stick, blocks, noise, whatever) and  introverted , which resulted in attacks from his side when you asked him to do anything. Since we started, things change - slowly, but they do!

I really try to get as much information on anything as I can get - informationaholic so to say
I hope to find some of it on this forum!

Welcome...and if you don't find what you're looking for, you can ask for advice!   Probably ask in the Level 1 or 2 forums.

Thanks happycat!

Fun, well... for the first half year I got him he definitely wasn't. I was thinking about selling him, but didn't know who I would sell a kicking, striking, biting, pushing, not-going horse to...

He has the looks of a child's horse, but knows what he wants and even more what he doesn't want (which turns out to be everything but grazing   ).

But in the last weeks or months he has changed - or I have changed. I don't want any other horse now. It's such a nice feeling when you know you can go on a trail ride bareback and only with the halter, and no matter what happens or what new object crosses our path- the worst thing your horse probably does is flinch once (an then go and see if the object he saw is edible)
