noni for horsesNoni fruit is supposed to be really good for humans, but does any one know if it's good for horses? Just wondering because I've been told it is good for joint health, and I've been looking for something to give my horse, Magic, who has problems with one of her hocks. Nonis grow naturally where I live, so I figured it was worth a shot to ask.

Noni Juice is the primary ingredient of Equine Essentials:

I have a friend who swears by it. I know once it snapped my mare out of colic/shock and may have saved her life. Within 20 minutes of giving it to her she went from shocky, no gut sounds, to perky and good gut sounds. I don't take her traveling now without it...but have to admit, I've never seen her that sick again.
A friend feeds it to her horses every day.

but would feeding them a noni fruit be ok? Like I said, they grow where I live.

I have no idea. Since they can handle the juice and it is not toxic, I imagine they could. Unless you have a horse with metabolic problems, the sugar in the fruit should not be a problem.
I don't see whats to loose in trying.
There are probably some old timers near you who use it to treat horses.

I will have to ask around, but I doubt I will find much information where I live. But you never know.
The horse in question does not have any metabolic problems.
