Ok, this is a little weird, and cool.

I had just replied to a Brent Graef post regarding his 3 day clinics.  I do have a tough time with all the information being thrown out there.  I know I'll remember what I need to know.  My personality is driven and I want to learn it all.  I know, I'm nuts.
One of the things that stuck with me at the clinic was when Brent told me I needed to check out centered riding.  I went home, googled it, and found a level 3 instructor pretty close by.  Not only close, she was hosting a 3 day clnic that next weekend for instructors and needed one more student rider.  The next weekend?  It could not have been more perfect.
I had considered getting out of horses because it was too painful to ride.  Thanks to centered riding, I am now riding pain free.  I'm tired at the end of an hour, but I feel better for having ridden.
Brent's wife just responded....

Hi Deb,

Yes, Brent does throw out a lot of information in 3 days. Different folks need to hear different things so, it all adds up. We certainly don't expect anybody to absorb it all and re-train their body in just 3 days but, folks sure did make a ton of progress! There was a big difference even between day 1 and day 2. Do you remember the changes in Matt and his horse. That was really cool to see.

I wanted to clarify something to the group about Deb's message. Brent does tell people to work to ride centered and balanced- not lean all over the place and wallow around. (Exaggerations are confusing to the horse and throw them off balance.) However, he did not recommend a "centered riding" clinic. We've simply never been to a centered riding clinic so, it would be hard to recommend it to anybody:-)
Just wanted to clear that up.
I am glad you've found ways to help you ride more balanced.
Keep working to refine your riding.

Kris

I don't think I could have been more gently steered to the right answer if I tried.  I don't think this was an accident, you know?  It has totally changed my riding, my tolerance for pain, (non during riding) and my horses!  The horses are so much better for this path I found myself on.  I'm sitting her just freakin' out.  Are ya freakin' with me?  wow.
