Quiz: Test Your Hoof KnowledgeI realize that this is very simple for some of you but I thought it was a great quiz for the rest of us.

Ok, I got a few wrong, but thats because the hoof had more than just one problem listed going on... thats my story and I'm sticking to it

That was fun! I got all the visual ones right, but got confused on some of the others... it is new years eve though and I have had my share of wine...That's MY story...
I liked that they tell you what the answers are at the end

After you click submit it shows you what ones you got correct or incorrect then it shows what the answer was in bold print.

Cool!
I got 17 right. I figure that's not bad for someone who had a total training of one afternoon seminar, books, and internet questions.
And some of those questions were tricky - this hoof belongs to a . . .
Sheesh-I've only worked on three different horses in my life and never even saw the feet of all those breeds. (But I got it right!)

Okay sorry to be the party pooper, but... The anatomical questions are correct but the rest besides the resection picture is silly.
Obviously a Strasserish type trimmer as the bars are all over trimmed and you can not make a diagnosis based on one photo

ridingallday: This was obviously not meant for your level of sophistication. It was not about the trim. I was hoping the rest of us could test our basic knowledge and maybe learn something about hoof anatomy, physiology, and disease. I had multiple diagnosis for some of the pictures as well and could have made many comments on the trims had I found that the purpose of the quiz. Never the less I found it a valuable and fun quiz for most of us.
I did not find it silly nor did I find it Strasserish or I would not have posted it. You are of course, entitled to your own opinion as am I.

Fairhaven,
I did not mean to make fun of you. What I meant is that it is silly to show a hoof and say it is lame from overlaid bars Lame from... etc...
One picture is not enough, if she had left it at anatomical structures it would have been a great and fun quiz. In this manner it is misleading.
Yes it is a Strasserite/MarthaO person.

I did not realize that. I saw the horrible feet but did not make the connection.
Never the less the anatomy part was good! I guess I got caught up in that part and did not see the other!

I was happy to have gotten the 'which breed of horse does this foot belong to'...I chose percheron because I recall Pete Ramey talking about something about how some draft breeds tend to have that signature chronic chip/divot in the hoof. Of course, I don't recall the reason why they have that, but anyways! :D

Well, I got eleven right. Wasn't boned up on all the terminologies. Some of the pics were a bit dubious.

Yay I got 21! I swear it seems like the more I learn the less I know. It's nice to know at least some of it is sticking.

I did better than the average horse owner. I definitely have a lot to learn about the hoof.

Wow, Calatar, that is good
