When I give a reiki treatment, I always tell the humans that I'm just like an extension cord. It doesn't come from me, it's a God thing. We can talk, they don't need to do anything, and niether do I. It's a little like painting angels, I don't have anything to do with miracles. That's between God and the human soul.
I was the biggest skeptic around, and was dragged kicking and screaming to my first reiki certification class. Sure wasn't too excited about painting angels, either. Both are right from the source, but I do understand why folk can feel a bit put off. It only takes one treatment though, and they get it. It's all about love, healing, and understanding that we all deserve peace and harmony in the body, and in our lives. Every. Single. One. Of. Us.

I just got home from attending Reiki classes all day today. I am now certified in Reiki I and II. Feeling like the Energizer Bunny, running on a fresh pack of new batteries.

As my sufi leader once said, "you may fly very high after this, but you will come down. The higher you fly, the harder you crash." Watch out for that, be kind to yourself and watch that landing, it can be a doozie. Congrats on the reiki. If you have the opportunity, work with the best of the best masters you can. Just doing reiki with them sends you to another level, at least it did for me. Who was your reiki master?

Whom ever was lurking and did that it was really very good. The pain left my shoulder so abruptly that I dropped the load I was carrying. All the negative energy left me and my mood totally changed. Which is a good thing because I was starting to get pretty stressed over what's going on here right now.

The area where I felt like a knife blade was stuck in my shoulder is just tingling now and I am no longer angry.

I believe in this because my grandfather was a faith healer. I believe that it was passed on in our family. Some of us are healers by the gift of God. That is what I believe. he uses us for it. Wonderful thread. I did massage therapy, too.

I never knew my dad's father. He died before I was born. My grandmother used to tell me stories about the family when I was a kid. We'd spend afternoons together on her front porch with the rockers and the porch swing.
She said that my grandfather had special hands. That he could always make the hurt go away with his touch. All the kids would run to him when they had a booboo, knowing that he would quickly make them feel better. I felt his presence today.

It makes sense, doesn't it though? When you get a boo boo, what's the first thing you do? You hold it! We all have the natural instinct to heal with our hands,, so this isn't something that we don't all know on some level. I do believe the stuff can be passed along in a family, I also believe that some folks who have gone through some traumatic childhoods can also be more in tuned with the stuff. I don't believe that it is limited to certain individuals. We all have the same stuff. Taking a reiki class can enable anyone to experience hands on healing. The thing with reiki is, you have to use for it to grow. Marty, and not to take this wrong

every night, touch your self. Use reiki on you every night before you go to sleep, and use it on anyone and anything that will give you permission to do so. My reiki master said that she'd rather be worked on by a L 1 student who practices all the time, than an L 2 that never uses it. The more you use it, the better you'll be.
Tony asks for Reiki when he can't sleep, my daughter asks for it when she gets those headaches of hers. The thing about reiki is, it heals on all levels. Maybe you want that shoulder healed, but it also heals the mind and the spirit, which is why some folks find themselves crying during a reiki session, because it brings up their emotional issues. I always tell people, this healing touches every part of you, not just your boo boo. Reiki totally changed Tony, brought up all his stuff, and he had to deal with it ALL. It was such a blessing for him.
Fairhaven, I didn't send any reiki your way. I'd have to have your permission, and I hadn't asked. There are reiki rules, no permission, no reiki. Don't discount your own ability to heal. Your intent was to heal, you didn't care how it happened. You opened the door, and you expected to heal. I've seen cancer dissapear overnight, just this same way. We all have the most amazing capacity to do so many wonderful things. Every one of us.
