Renegade boots - reviews?Hey guys
What do you think of Renegade boots? I currently use Old Macs as they stick better then my Easyboot Bares did, and have just acquired a pair of Epics - road tests will begin soon, but my girl has funny feet, and kept throwing the Bares. Not sure how the Epics will go. Really don't like Old Macs for weight and fitting (chance of rubbing) but they seem to work better on the mare.
Also, riding in sand arenas - Mac boots seem to keep the sand out whilst the Bares were shocking! Haven't tried the Epics yet, but they are supposed to be better in arenas then Bares. Wondering if the Renegades have had any problems with sand in the straps or not.

I ride in deep sand in some places on the trail. The Renegades always stay on. She moves fine in them. Most of the sand falls out of the toe but some stays in. I dump it out when I take them off her. It doesn't seem to bother her as she moves better in the Renegades than with shoes or barefoot.
The straps are Velcro and I think, no proof, sand will in time ruin it. I am very careful to close the Velcro completely even when the boots are off her. I have put quite a few miles on the boots, half the bottoms are worn off, and have had no Velcro problems. They do sell the Velcro straps separately if they wear out and my pair came with extra Velcro straps. I have heard the Velcro was the part that wore out the fastest in the original Renegades and they have taken steps to improve.
