Seagull poo

Is it bad for horses? We have some big lakes in our pastures now and have had hundreds of seagulls here for the last couple of weeks. I just got to wondering if their poo was as bad as some of the other birds poo.

The neighbor is shooting at them to keep him out of his cow pastures so that made me wonder even more...anybody know?

We have seagulls here every spring when the farmers till their fields.  Then they love our pasture too.   It's illegal to shoot them here, and probably is there too.  You can't shoot any bird except sparrows and starlings, unless there is a hunting season for them.

I've never had a problem with them.  Horses won't eat bird poop if they can help it.

I know birds can carry EPM, but not sure which species.    I think opossums are much worse for EPM.
