Sunny Acres Ranch

Hi,

I'm Shelly from Grandview, WA. I started Parelli a little over 10 years ago.  I worked my way through the old L2 program and officially passed. I have been rescuing and rehabilitating horses for almost 5 years now. More than 100 horses have come through the ranch at this point.  I have learned something from each of them.

I am doing more rehabilitation and evaluation now, and then trying to match up the perfect person for the horses I have available.  It is very rewarding to see the perfect match come about, and I LOVE what I do!

Welcome Shelly ! Thank you for making a difference for the horses and finding them a loving home. It's what I dream of doing too.

Nice to have you Shelly and keep up the good work!  I LOVE your Avatar!

kinda glad you don't live closer, think we'd have a lot more horses.  Thanks for the good work you do.  Welcome to the forum!

Hi Shelly!
WELCOME!
I think I talked to you about 2-3 years ago about moving my Thoroughbred Captain from California up to your place. You were very friendly and I remember the pictures from your site!
Great to have you here!

Thanks for the nice welcomes everyone!

Sherry, start with just one horse. It is like the starfish story (if you have heard it?).

Nancy, thanks! It is the one I use for my website logo. I loved it too when I first saw it.

I do remember you contacting me about Captain! How is he? I can't remember if you were you the one that was planning to move to Washington, or just wanting to retire Captain up here at the ranch?

I'm looking forward to meeting some new people here and making some new friends.

Welcome Shelly!!

I'm sure that you'll enjoy this board--it's a great place.

I work with a rescue in North Texas--am working there full time for the summer and then volunteer during the rest of the year. (I'm currently in grad school.)

Anyways, it's great to see another person who is involved with rescuing and rehoming horses.

You know Shelley and Mary, you can list rescue horses onto forums here, on the Horses in Need forum and in the Sales forum.  You both do a great job.  If I ha d more money and space, that is what I' do also.

Kudos....and Welcome Shelley.

That's good to know.  Maybe I will list some of the horses I'm looking for homes here then.

Rider, there are some really nice quality horses (some still needing homes) in that herd dispersal. The reports I'm hearing back from the adopters from last year say that they are friendly, have good minds, and most of them went right back under saddle easily.  There are still several mares, and a couple of flashy geldings still waiting for a permanent home. If you know of anyone looking, please give me holler. Almost all of them are registered.

There is an entire list of what is available here:
