This is me *carefreegirl*Hey thought I would introduce myself—
My name is Valrie, I live in Southeastern Idaho near Idaho Falls. I am a college student (will be graduating with an associates in April-then headed for dental hygiene school), I am almost 21 years old, and will be doing Parelli for 1 year this coming March. I am also married, and will have been married for 2 years this coming May—no kids; waiting till we are closer to being done with school and a little more financially stable.
I have loved horses since I was born—ran around on hands an knees, read every horse book I could find once I got old enough to read, made my nieces and nephews play horses with me—begged neighbors to ride their horses, etc.
Anyway you get the idea, got my first horse when I was about 13 after striking up a deal with my dad—he would pay for most of the initial purchase of the horse as long as I paid for most of the upkeep/board/feed/vet bills/etc. It ended up working well—I named my first horse “Kindred Spirit.” Got my second horse about 4 years after my first; which is now my current horse whom I named “Bently” Wasn’t able to keep up financially with both horses so I sold Spirit to a young girl so that he could teach her—It was one of the hardest things I have ever done.
Bently is the one that lead me to Parelli—he is an 8 year old Appendix Quarter Horse Gelding- registered name is “Correct Bar Beau”—he is a complicated sensitive horse, but very smart—He is mostly RBE/LBE but has some RBI tendencies, and he can act like an LBI sometimes where it is hard to tell if he is RBI or LBI—usually though it is RBI. He use to be an extreme RBE/RBI—now he is more moderate in horsenalities, but shows more of them—go figure.
For the future I hope to have a small family—continue working as a certified nursing assistant (I already am one—got certified while in High School), work as a dental hygienist, and have my own equestrian facility; where I want to do training of horses and people, and maybe some therapeutic riding, as well as rehabilitate some horses. Hubby plans to become a lawyer—currently trying to get into law school.
My hobbies are of course horses first, reading, photography (animal and nature type photos), exercising (so that I can be fit to keep up with my Bently boy ), and learning about topics that interest me.
That’s about it.
:D
Here are some pics-
Bently and Me--these are Senior pics so taken almost 3 years ago now.
This was my first horse Kindred Spirit--I see him almost every year
He was a grade gelding, but I think he might have had some arab and appy in him--not for sure though--pic taken about 6 years ago- he was about 14 then.
Here is pic of Bently running--fairly soon after I got him, having fun in the pasture--it is almost 5 years old now--Bently is taller and bigger now then in this pic. *note I don't leave the halter on when I am not there--and now I use a rope halter,
Here is Bent Summer 2008--this is him about his heaviest weight; he turned into an easy keeper on me.--he is lose roaming around the back driveway why I am taking pics. --if you look close you can see that his LF crack went clear up to his coronet band at this point in time
I am working on resizing pics to a more reasonable size...

Here is the link to my thread in the "Come Ride with Us" section of this forum. This thread contains many vids, and eventually will have more pics of Bently and me. The thread is Titled "Bently and me :D "

Thanks for looking. I'd really appreciate any constructive feedback you could give me on photos/vids, though, I can be a little RBI sometimes so please do it as gently as possible, but also tell me the truth....I can't improve if I don't know what I am doing wrong, or if I don't know of ways to improve, suggestions are welcome as well, and pointing out things I am doing well is always appreciated. Just put any comments/suggestions on the "Bently and me :D" thread. Thanks so much for looking.
