What is the best Pete Ramey video to start with?

I read all these threads with words like ... concavity, sole depth and thickness, Lamelar wedges, collateral groove ... etc  and have no idea what those mean!

I find the hoof very interesting and I am very interested in learning all I can about the hoof and would love to trim my own horses.

I want to do it right and not hurt my horses!  I really love my blacksmith but he just dont put a roll on the hoof like you all like to see.

So what Pete Ramey video would you recommend I start with?  I dont have tons of money to spend.

Any/all suggestions are very much appreciated!!

Buy or rent the "Under the horse" series. If you can afford it, buy them. It is $250.00 for the set, and in my eyes worth 4 times that. My horse & mule are better off because of it. He has a wonderful way of teaching and you learn the terminolgy in a very natural way, he is very humble and smart.  Every horse owner should at least watch them.

Horseflix has them for rent last I heard.

Agree with Autumn here, I rented them through horseflix, watched them all in about a month, watching two at a time, so only cost about $12 to $15 (can't remember exactly what the membership fee was) I stopped the membership when I knew I was going to be moving, and I have since heard that horseflix is no longer in business (that could be wrong though), but I know there is a giddupflix, and I think there is another one that rents out horse movies but don't know the name.

Watch the Under the Horse series from beginning to end is what I suggest, and also reading his book. You could also familiarize yourself about hoof structures through books or through the internet if you are having problems recognizing what he is talking about.

Does anyone know if Netflix has it?  My husband and son have the subscription that you can watch it on your tv.

I don't think Netflix has any horse movies other then the blockbuster kind, "Black Beauty" etc.

Here is the link to giddyupflix where Under the Horse series is:

(horseflix said they weren't accepting any new customers at this time when I went to their website. There is another horse movie rental site, but can't remember the name of it still, and I don't know if it has the Under the Horse series.)

or go here http://www.hoofrehab.com/underthehorse.htm  to buy it

I'd personally buy the set if you can, but if you can't renting it is a great option.

his book is also great, "Making Natural Hoof Care work for You" I bought mine at Amazon.com
