haha, thank you, that picture was taken last summer you may not like him so much in the winter, As you can see he is kept as god made him with full mane tail and feathers, i go throught gallons of pig oil in the winter to keep the mud at bay. he can be scruffy in the winter months, He has two blue eyes and is 15hh but built like the draught horse that he is, He was bred by thr gypsies to pull their bow top caravans and he is an extreem LBI, we have scared each other in the past but now we have a good relationship and trust each other.

I LOVE HIM!

He is even cuter with all of the hair!!!!

What kind of saddle are you riding in? It looks super comfortable. What kind of bridle is that? I really like the looks of it! (Can you tell I'm on the look-out for more tack? hehe)

My gosh, you must be super flexible- I don't know that I could stretch that much to fit on such a wide barreled horse. He must be a total DREAM to ride bareback.

PS: What is pig oil?

the saddle is a torsion, it is treeless i also use a copper beech treeless saddle , the bridle is a dr cooks, it is bitless, the natural hackamore is seen as a halter here and my insurance will not cover us for riding on the roads with a halter but we are covered with a bridle, so if we are on the road i use a dr cooks and if i am on the trails and bridleways  we use the rope hackamore.I am not anti bit, but my boy was only a baby when i got him and had only just been under saddle for 3 weeks, i couldnt find a bit that he likes, i didnt listen to him until my heavy hands caused him to rear up and i fell off into the road, i almost got hit by a car . We were being looked after that day, My crash hat cracked all down the back and i offered a silent prayer that i wasnt brain damaged.I will never ride without one, it saved my life. So i took the bit away and began with the hackamore. now i was listening to my horses opinion of me and it was getting better. I have recently purchased a cradle bridle and covered the bit with honey and just started to rebit Bo in readyness for our finess stage of the programme, he is accepting of the myler low port c3 bit, it gives him lots of tongue relief. we have used the bridle in the school but on the big rings which means that at present the noseband is used (just like the hackamore) and the bit is carried. when i feel he is ready we will try a slight contact and see where we go from there, the bridle is very resellable if he hates it and then we will simply go back to the dr cooks and the hackamore. Bo doesnt need a bit but i would like to learn to ride with contact, we will go slowly and at our own pace.Pig oil, is a mineral oil (same as baby oil but without the perfume) it is used by farmers for their pigs to prevent mud rash. I apply ti to mane tail and feathers twice a month, this keeps the hair from getting discoloured and the mud simply slides off leaving the legs dry and clean under the feathering, i also add sulpher flour this smells like matches but helps prevent those pesky feather mites which can cause a lot of itching and unpleasentness for feathered horses.Just telling you all this is showing me how much i have learned in the past 4 years, i am 60 yrs old this year and feel that i have missed so much in my life by never having a horse around, My first horse was rescued from slaughter but sadly needed to be put to sleep just a short time after i got her, i had never even met a horse before then.after she was gone i missed her so much that i looked for another, I went to look at a similar horse who was for sale with the gypsies ,there stood in the samr field was Bo jangles, i thought he was the ugliest horse i had ever seen , white, dirty, round, and very cheeky i still say that he chose me that day.He was determined to get my attention .
