That's my interpretation.  He's half Arab and I'm a fairly "sensitive to energy" human being.  I have no trouble usually picking up vibes from people, animals or places unless I'm preoccupied.

Bucky and I also have quite a history.  So that may explain some of it.  I thought I'd try an experiment this weekend since we're on the subject.  Since Toby and I only have 1 week's worth of energy, I'm going to try it with him and see what happens.

I tried it with the damn donkey and he just told me to leave him alone.

If we really want to get airy fairy, how many of you have heard of The Silva Method?  That's where I first really learned about energy, distance healing, etc.  I have had some incredible experiences using the techniques I learned there.  Wow - that was a long time ago and yet it seems like yesterday.

I'll post my experiences with an animal communicator on the other thread.  She's the first one who told me, "You don't need me.  You just need to sit down, shut up and tune in.  Animals will let you know what you're looking for."  Since that time, I have had experiences where I felt certain things and other experiences where I actually heard things in my head.

My feeling and experience is that once a person opens themselves up to the possibility of this kind of communication, then the experiences begin.  BUT then we immediately discount them or negate them.  That's where the work lies for me - actually honoring the experiences for what they are.

For those with religious beliefs that this is creeping out, I relate my personal experiences to stories of people being "called" in certain respects.  They're all gifts and they all come from Source - whether your Source is God or Spirit or Fred.  Just mho . . .

Very well said, Erin.  We certainly didn't mean to freak anyone out.

Like I said earlier, I thought all the great horsemen and other animal "trainers" knew and used this. It's only natural after all...

To me this equals "Focus", and you hear that from just about EVERYONE in horsetraining circles.

On a side note: A bunch of us are heading to the Ray Hunt Tribute on Saturday.  I wonder what we'll "see"........

I agree with this 100%.. seeing and using energy is something everyone can do if they are in the now/ moment/present what ever you want to call it..
Most people don't SEE what the horse is saying because they are so caught up in thier own minds they cant' be present!

You know I was raised in a very 'religious' home & when I was a kid, it often shocked me that religious folks are so freaked out by this.  I asked a minister one time, "Do you think God is really offended that the Native American calls him Manitou or the Great Spirit?  Or that another group refers to him a different way?  Just so long as they call him????"  Of course, he thought I was a smart aleck kid... I felt sorry for him as I was sincere & the question was one I'd thought on for a long time.  Out of the same Bible this man preached from it says 'there is nothing new under the sun"... so what's to be afraid of???

Here's a quote from amazon.com on Buck Brannaman's book Believe.

"There's a point in horsemanship when horse and horseman know enough about each other that a third thing, another dimension, begins to be part of the relationship. It's upon this element that the real ride takes place and in Believe we can see the markers along the journey."

As Bret Graef says, "This can be as deep as you want to be . . . a little deep or a whole lot deep.  You get to choose."

I know that I've been changed in very good ways ever since you taught me how to do this Bit. You are right, I'll never be the same.

I remember that thread! My cloudbusting experience has been inconclusive but I'll admit I didn't have ALL the factors going for me all at the same time.

From what I've experienced, heard and read, we all have different gifts.  Some folks hear, some see, some feel, it's all part of our wonderful individual-ness!  If you can feel an aura, maybe that's your thing.  I wouldn't get too caught up in not being able to do something.  Focus on your gifts, the good bits in your life, and you'll get more of the same.  Focus on what you don't have, and you'll get more of that.
I'm just touching on that "other" that Brent talks about.  It's my favorite part.  I don't have that stress of not riding anymore.  My time with the herd has a lot of different facets, and the one I would grieve for would be the "other".  That's what makes horses magic...or it's what enables us to enter that magical world they live in.  It's the key to all that good stuff.
