Hope I was able to copy this ok.

If not, you can find this on her blog. We have talked "contact" to death, and it means a little something different to everyone, I guess. I'm the kind of learner that needs to FEEL, or experience what I'm trying to learn. Since contact, or should I say engagement???? is what I'm trying to get a feel for with Gunner, I'm thinking the Uber's will be a great way
for my horse and I to get a feel for one another, and progress towards some great engagement in the saddle.
The Uber's are just another path to engagement and collection. It's a good one for me because I get the experience and feel part, doing it this way. It works for me, and I wanted to give ya'll a heads up that it's just starting up and lesson 1 is on line as of today. It's ugly winter, and a great way to spend time with your partner when riding may not be an option. _________________ "It was once said I should clear my head for one cannot ride a Thoroughbred. Yeah, I just saw this...maybe we should start a discussion part on it. Keep it up near the top. _________________ Carol Nudell

I'd love it, need some support as I work through this stuff. I often have a need for clarification as with the description of the new UE the other day.

It would be awesome to have a discussion on it here, I'd love to hear what you think, those of you with a lot more experience than I have with riding, dressage and an interest in ideas about contact. In any case, it's an interesting new way to interact with your horse whether you ride or not. Carolyn R told me once that it helps to calm your horse and it gives you another way to get the horse focused on you when things get chaotic. _________________ The dog may be man's best friend, but the horse wrote history. |

okie dokie. Temps still around 10, so will wait until Fri to start this, at least for me. I get a little fussy when I can't feel my hands. _________________ "It was once said I should clear my head for one cannot ride a Thoroughbred. Hot they are. And too fast they be. Forever on the fly. No, you haven't missed an actual lesson. She's giving people time to find her and sign up if they choose, but you can still read her lessons on the blog even if you don't enroll. First actual lesson will be next Tuesday I think. _________________ The dog may be man's best friend, but the horse wrote history. |

Ok, I made it a Sticky so it will stay at the top.
I had to go to funeral today, so didn't get a chance to read the lesson. I missed last year's class, so I'm looking forward to participating this time. _________________ Carol Nudell

I'm signed up. Is the format similar to the Insider's Circle Club from last year? I have to admit that I had a bit of trouble getting used to that format. But I'm looking forward to learning about the UEs.

The format is probably this: she'll post about the UEs on her blog every Tuesday, describing the exercises and maybe giving us "homework", ie to write about your progress, or ask questions, in that day's comment section. She will try to answer the most common questions, probably not all of them (I think she must have over 100 people signed up in just 24 hours!). Her Thursday blogs will be on other subjects. Last year she held a single phone-in session, which is (or was) available online for free, but she hasn't said anything about that so far for this year. The course lasted several months last year. _________________ The dog may be man's best friend, but the horse wrote history. |

Putting a lot of questions, observations about this to one side, has anybody found any pictures or video of horses being ridden demonstrating the benefits of this method?
I spent over an hour looking and had a hard time even finding anyone mounted in a gait let alone demonstrating half halts, collection, self carriage etc, perhaps I just can’t search, has anyone found any? |

It's not the easiest to navigate site. I'm already enrolled for her blog and e-mails. I see the Free UE class, but don't see an enrollment for it. Could someone post the link for it? _________________ Carol Nudell

Carol, I enrolled just by replying at the bottom of her post to her announcement of the course(the last one I received) on her regular blog(I hope blog is the correct term---the thing she puts out about 2X/week). I received an email from her acknowledging that I was enrolled.
Rik, I'm not a good one to respond to your question because I'm not that familiar with CR but I have never seen her giving any riding instructions. What I know about her info is that it is largely about horse/human behavior(good stuff, imo). But there are people here who are a lot more familiar with her than I am.
