Hope you all found some!  It really is hard to play with more than one at a time.  Mine don't understand why they are not getting treated when I click for one of them........... much default behaviors goin' on, funny to watch.  I got smilers, leg lifters, backers all at once   I am sure that I have a serious stimulus control issue

The Hedge apples are going off right now!  Considering the lack of rain, I'm surprised.  A lot of them are the size of small apples, though.  Still, tons of them!  So what's with them being good for bugs?  Have you heard that?
I heard the most God awful squealing this morning, ran out in a panic and Gunner came running to me.  He was fine, but Hawk had a huge kick mark on his chest, and a very big grin.  Eclipse is in heat, again.  I ran in and got the triple antibiotic/fly ointment and rubbed it on.  Flies were all over it.  He whipped around and showed me a good bite mark on the other side.  I don't see any man parts on him, but it sure would explane a lot about Hawk.  Could I have a stallion?
The one thing I've noticed this morning, we are closer.  There is more trust, and the bond is better.  Not so much with Shaun.  Like I said, I haven't put the chair time in with him like I have with everyone else.  I mean I read the whole Harry Potter series, and Twilight series, plus tons of time once I got what a horsey state of mind was.  The difference is huge.  Chair time is critical.  Just time not asking anything is critical.  Your horse knowing his name, pretty important.  Knowing how to send energy to just one horse, and no one else, helps a lot.  Had a lot of practice leading one horse from behind, and the rest of the herd not moving.  They knew I wasn't talking to them.  That helped last night when I was working with all five.  I'm not talking to you.  I'm talking to YOU.  But I want you to talk to me!  Not right now.  Wait.  I'll be back to you.  Ok.  Are you sure?  WAIT.  Fine.
Nancy, you know how there's always one kid in the classroom?  One annoying kid that raises their hand, asks questions for the attention, and tries your patients?  I know there is because I always had one when I did ski school.  By the time I hit ski team and had the same kids all year, I knew what to do with them.  Hawk is that kid.  I need to figure out how to give him a task while I play with everyone else.  I used to put those kids in charge of helping kids that might fall, or have them lead the other kids down the hill...What to do with a little arabian that demands all your attention?  Build that separate area, I guess.   Better get out there before Eclipse kills Hawk.

Give him his own personal pedestal to stand on. It's 'home'.

When I work with all mine together & I'm not using Sonny, he likes to stand on his pedestal. It makes him feel important & from time to time I turn to him, tell him his being a good boy, maybe click & maybe treat.

He is happy to stay as long as he feels I am not getting too far away mentally from him. If he thinks I have forgotten him he will get off & get in my way.

I wish I could SEE my pedestal!  The weeds are as tall as me, growing right in the middle of the thing.  I have three tires, two truck tires and one tractor tire, like a bridge?  Can't even see em!  Too hot to tackle it right now.  It's 100.4, high humidity and I can't imagine trying to deal with it right now.  Tony is coming home, heh heh.  He's gonna fix my mower and FIND my pedestal.  Hawk is smart.  Nice pedestal, I wanna play.  Unless I stay with him, he's coming with me.

Yea, I know that kid!  It is the best policy to give them a job. I need to make a pedestal for MY kid to hang out on

Last night it was an evening for mint juleps and sitting on the porch.  We all found a spot in the shelter, the mister was going, and we dozed.  I made sure no one harrassed Shaun, and he and I did a lot of head rubbing.  His head, not mine.  He's coming around.  When everyone took off for their evening graze, Shaun hung out and I told him to "wait".  As soon as everyone was around the corner, I got him an evening snack.  He was hungry.   He's not feeling real well, got a respiratory infection, the vet figures.  He looks better today.  His appetite has never wavered.  If he goes off his feed, I need to dig a hole.
Yesterday was all about sharing territory.  The McDonalds temp said 114.  Keeping the water full, cold and we have tons of shade to hang out in.  I'm going to try the sprinkler when it gets very hot, unless it rains.  Supposed to get t storms all day.  Only 89!  Humidity makes it feel like the bowls of hell.  I love sharing territory!  It's my fav!
